United StatesStaff was inflexible and unnecessary strict. Our youngest (14year old) was meeting up with his Japanese friends later that day and staying over the night at their house as well. The staff of Taketoritei only allowed him to be with us in our room for 30 minutes!! The rest of the time he had to wait downstairs in the lobby by himself and was not allowed to join us at the onsen either.

The kaiseki meal was beautifully prepared and presented however I don’t think it was our taste. Not because of the facility but for personal flavor preference. But the breakfast was delightful and delicious!

United KingdomNot a complaint, but be aware that if you are vegetarian or vegan you might struggle with the breakfasts. We loved the delicious fish each morning.
Everything about the property was idyllic, we stayed in the King room with Spa and it met every one of our expectations. The room was fantastic, spa bath and outdoor seating area overlooking the beautiful garden was serene. We opted for breakfast in the room and is was well proportioned and delicious. The ease of booking one of the many private onsens available meant that you can soak all your stress away and the Ginzen waters are sublime.

-The private Onsen rooms can be reserved via QR Code and then you can have the room alone with your Family. Thats fantastic and the whole reason to go there. All Onsen rooms are fantastic. -the room was nice and big

SwitzerlandThe dehumidifier was loud at night. The food quantities for dinner and breakfast were really too much.
The outdoor private onsens were amazing. Booking them was easy and there was always availability. It's really not necessary to get the in-room onsen. The yukata and japanese pj's which were provided were also great quality. I now regret not buying some :) There are some great hiking trails and a hilltop shrine near the hotel, which are very quiet and secluded.

Hong KongThere was no table for Omakase dinner in the hotel restaurant as we did not book before arrival, so we had to go to their sister hotel, by hotel shuttle bus for our omakase dinner.
Located at top of hill so car or taxi is necessary to get there. but walking down from hotel to town is easy and on the way can see all the interesting shops and past the origins of some onsen springs. Our family room for 4 has two proper comfortable large beds and another room for 2 futon beds. This area is converted to a breakfast area in the morning. On top of a nice small private onsen in the semi-open area of the room garden, the hotel has 8 private bookable onsen, 4 outdoor and 4 indoor, bookable 45 min session but must finish the session before booking another one. The lobby has unlimited supply of ice cream and tea as we arrive back after a day's shopping. I appreciate their shuttle service transporting our luggage to another hotel while we went shopping, after our checkout.

It has 8 private onsen and the room I booked has an open Air bath. A short walk to the town centre through a short-cut path that the staff told us. Very comfortable spacious room. Best onsen hotel so far for me ! Plus the front desk staff are super friendly and helpful. He can speak both English and Mandarin which is very helpful to us who can’t speak Japanese.

We loved everything about this place! The staff was amazing, the room spectacular.... our only complaint is that we weren't staying longer. The onsen was amazing and the water felt great. I would highly recommend staying here. We did do the dinner and breakfast and both were great! Well worth the costs! 11 out of 10 if we could.

NetherlandsOur room was amazing, both the room and hotel are very clean. The room was quiet, our private onsen and garden were beautiful we enjoyed them a lot. There is a cattle in the room with tea and also a coffee maker. The staff was amazing, really friendly, very attentive and helped with all our questions. They reserved restaurants for us and brought us with a car to the restaurants. They also helped with arranging transport for our luggage to the next hotel. There was also a dedicated English speaking staff member. The location of the hotel is also great, it's higher up in Arima, which makes it nice quiet.
