The buffet breakfast, as there are a few timings that you can choose , if you choose a later timing, most of the grilled dishes are finished and didn't get replenish. Understand that the hotel offers Kaiseki meal plans but booking.com doesn't have that option for you to choose. We booked through booking.com thinking that we will get kaiseki meals, but was told that we need to specify during our booking, which doesn't seem to be available on the booking platform.

The interior has a bit of a dated feel to it - carpets, wallpapers, design choices etc feel 20-30 years old. It didn't bother me at all - the place felt timeless and classic.

The hospitality at Musashi was amazing. We were greeted in a lounge room and offered local plum juice, while staff checked us in and talked through the amenities, how to find our room etc. There are great amenities available including free ice-cream snacks, gorgeous dressing gowns for use in the rooms, walking around the hotel etc. We weren't brave enough to try the onsen (prudish westerners we are!) but we saw lots of people coming and going and looking very relaxed.

The room is so out of dated. The buffet dinner was great, although 6600 yen per person is on the expensive side.

We stayed at Annex which accidentally went down to wrong exit to other unused level. The unused level is dark without much lighting and very eerie.

The check in was busy, the process was unusual. Parking was not on site.

The room was clean and spacious. The amenities were great! My children enjoyed playing table tennis at the hotel and having some free ice cream after :D There are several very clean onsen options indoor, open air, large onsen and low temperature. They are open through the night - I went at midnight and it was empty, I had the onsen to myself :) Hotel is close to several restaurants and very close to beach.

The room was a bit dusty. They could clean it a bit better. The dinner buffet was quite expensive, so we didn’t partake.

We liked the room which is ryokan style with tatami and sitting table. The onsen was our favorite part, very family friendly, and the breakfast buffet was incredible.

It was very comfortable, spacious and tastefully furnished. The onsen was lovely. It is very close to Shirahama beach. Our room overlooked the beach which provided a beautiful outlook.

The view in the annex is basically non existent and there is a flight my of stairs you’ll have to carry all your luggage up to get to your room.

The location is good, not directly on the beach but close enough to walk there. A family mart is also near by to grab snacks and essentials.

the walk to our room was very long, we were in the annex. Two different elevators to get to our room. part of the walk wasn’t air conditioned. the carpets were stained and wet. the parking lot was small but still had empty spots.

We visited in July during the season, but one of the baths was closed due to renovation. Could be better planned. The buffer dinner and breakfast menu was the same during three days we stayed there. Would want coin laundry at the hotel.

It's great location,, right next to shirahama beach and bus service. There' are no so many taxi, so next to bus stop is great 👍. There are also free shuttle buses, but in certain time only. Onsen is super cool, outdoor Onsen is a one natural .we didn't eat at hotel, but it easy to find nice food just along the street. We wish we could stay longer... The town is very quiet, many locals come during the weekends

- definitely a bit older, the carpets in the public areas need to be washed - no microwave for the guests in the whole hotel - WiFi is a bit rare in public areas and rooms

Very close to the beach and some convenience stores, very big Japanese style rooms! Very child friendly hotel. Spa area was pretty big as well :) Hot showers outside the hotel after the beaches are possible :)
