Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOn one of the days there was a smell of cigarette smoke in our room which was irritating given that it was a largely non-smoking hotel.
Bakery, good location, comfortable room.

property has a very trendy design and while it’s still quite a distance from shinjuku train station, fairly still a leisurely walk + there is a bus to the train station. hotel staff are also very friendly and approachable and helped us with all our touristy queries! rooms are kept clean too

United KingdomThe room was quite small but this is typical for Tokyo. The location was pretty good but next time I think I’d stay closer to a subway station.
It was clean and the bakery downstairs was lovely.

AustraliaThe rooms was very small, for 3 people, we barely had enough room for bags. The Bathroom was incredibly small, like a portloo that you stepped up into.
Bakery downstairs, quieter area.

AustraliaIt would have been nice to have more chairs and tables for breakfast as it gets quite busy in the foyer.
The location was brilliant. Far enough to be away from the business of Shinjuku but close enough to catch a train or walk. The park across the road was beautiful and picturesque.

AustraliaFor a first time traveller to Shinjuku, Tokyo, the location was not as central as I would have hoped.
The property had a great atmosphere, particularly the downstairs restaurant, bakery and foyer area. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.

AustraliaJust be aware the rooms aren’t very soundproof. We also felt that it was quite dusty / the cleaning job could have been better — but I don’t think either of these things should put you off staying at this hotel.
A very cute hotel within walking distance to Shinjuku station. We loved the bakery attached to the hotel — really good for vegans and those with dietary requirements. The room is a normal Tokyo size and the WiFi worked well for us. The park across the road was wonderful to sit and eat breakfast in each morning.

United KingdomThe only thing I didn’t think was great, is that they didn’t replace or clean our coffee cups we had to use in our room. We were there for 4 mornings and had to reuse our dirty cups. (We never mentioned as we thought they’d just forgotten and would get replaced the next day) It would’ve been fine if they provided something we could clean the cups with ourselves, but there wasn’t anything. We just used wipes we’d collected from restaurants.
It was in a location close to a train station, under 10 mins walk. The room was a comfortable size, the bed was great, very comfy. The bakery in the lobby of the hotel was fantastic, we purchased breakfast there every morning before we left on our daily adventures. The coffee and matcha tea provided in our room was delicious!

AustraliaLike all Tokyo rooms it was very small, but you pay for what you get
Lovely clean and vibrant hotel in a quiet area just out of Shinjuku. As first time travellers to Tokyo it was a nice calm base to return to each day. Delicious on site bakery which included vegan options for those requiring. Younger clientele but not backpacker. Lovely park opposite with Starbucks. 5 minute walk to local train (Tochomae) which was 1 stop from Shinjuku station. A5 is the closest exit - took us a while to figure out. Easy commute to all areas of the city. Some local restaurants and convenience stores nearby.
