Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

It was a great way to get a taste of traditional Japanese culture with excellent rooms, public baths and meals. The biggest highlight of our experience were the staff - particularly our room host. It felt like the whole staff were there to greet us on arrival, and Akari (our hostess for our stay) was exceptional. At dinner and breakfast, she explained each dish clearly, and was so lovely with our kids. The room was beautiful, and although it was a traditional room, it still contained modern comforts, although they were thoughtfully tucked away. We stayed here for one night at the half way point of a two week visit to Japan, and we left feeling refreshed.

New ZealandI failed to read and respond to the email telling me I needed to advise them three days before if we wanted dinner. Based on the extraordinary breakfast I think we missed out on what would have been a special experience.
An incredibly serene environment with welcoming staff and a genuine Ryokan experience. The Japanese breakfast was served in our room and comprised at least ten elements all of which were excellent. For a very reasonable price I was able to get an in room massage in the evening after I had used the onsen. The main room was traditional tatami mats but there was a smaller room with European style chairs and table that looked out at the garden.
