We loved its location. Off of a busy street yet very quiet and close to the creek. The lady at the front desk was super kind and helpful. She reminded me of my mother. She just made us feel like we were part of her family! We also booked meals with our stay and they were the most delicious homemade Japanese food we have ever had!

Very friendly and kind staff made our stay so special and comfortable. The dinner and breakfast served were amazing! They were so accommodating of members of our group who did not eat seafood by preparing delicious things. They prepared a beautiful birthday cake and fruit platter for my birthday. We were a large family group of 10 and everyone loved staying at this ryokan. The kind staff made all the difference.

Lovely little Ryokan in Hakone. Our room was comfortable and included a private soaking tub. The meals were exquisite and beautiful works of art. We felt totally pampered here.

The view of our room was of the neighboring house. We had pork as our main meal two nights in a row and the first was boiled in water before being dipped in sesame sauce. It was a bit bland.

It was a short walk from the main station and very close to the bus stop. The room was spacious with a separate sleeping area. There were 2 sets of baths that would rotate between men and women. One was in a room that was open to the outside. The water in the onsen came from a 'special' spring. It was nice and hot. We ate in a separate area separating by screens to you could kind of talk to your neighbours. The food was very good (mostly) with a lot of small dishes. They had coffee with breakfast (small cups).

The manager and staff were particularly welcoming and helpful. They showed interest in what we did. The level of fine Japanese dining was exceptional. The onsite Onsen was a welcome feature to end our long days touring around.

It’s quite prescriptive in terms of set dinner and breakfast times and as a non-tea drinker I was told at breakfast to wait until the end before I could have a coffee.

The evening meal was amazing - I’m vegetarian and had notified them beforehand so everything tasted as good as it looked. Location was great too - just a five minute walk down the Main Street from Hakone train station. I arrived too late to enjoy the facilities such as the Onsens so I would recommend getting there at 3/4pm to enjoy it more if staying for one night.

The inn is a bit of a walk from the station; nothing like you'd have to walk in Tokyo, but for those with a lot of luggage, you should be aware you will need to walk through town to get to it.

The property was situated right on the river, with a great outdoor space to look over it. The property was much larger than expected, with extremely large rooms, very soft beds, and great amenities that included the multiple onsen (mineral water baths). Dinner and breakfast were kaiseki meals, when we had only expected dinner, so that was a wonderful surprise. Furthermore, the staff were extremely helpful and kind. I would recommend anyone who can climb stairs staying here - the property does require you to go upstairs to your room, and downstairs for the dining room.

Wonderful place to stay. We stayed at a typical Japanese room that was very comfortable and had a nice balcony were you could sit and have your tea. The food was excellent;, not only beautiful but delicious. Be aware that breakfast can't be served too early. It's a little pricey, but it compensates since the food is so good. It's also very close to Hakone Yumoto station (walking distance, 7 min) .

A memorable stay. The staff was warm and kind, we arrived during a rainy day and the person that welcomed us felt like a mom taking care of you with love. The room and bed were very spacious, it had everything we needed. The private Onsen in the room was amazing. The bed so comfortable (even the pillow was amazing which is very hard to find in an Hotel). Location is great (7min walk from station), but the best was the traditional dinner amd breakfast. We will cherish this day as something very special. Thank you so much!

The dinner and breakfast is really nice and beyond expectation. the room is very warming and cozy. Host lady is very nice and sweet, it was raining and they have some umbrella you can use. I would definitely come again.

The Western-style bed was just futons on a raised platform, so it's quite firm but we slept absolutely fine.

We were given such a warm welcome here. The baths are fantastic, we used both the gendered baths and the private rooftop. There aren't very many guests so you have a good chance of being alone in the gendered baths. The food was really special and unique.
