There is a short but steep incline to get to the property, there are stairs but the owner helped me take them up.

One of the best things about this place is the owner. He’s so friendly and helpful. And you can meet travellers from all over the world! Theres plenty of amenities for you to use. And it has a great ocean view.

An amazing place to stay! Yuki was so kind and helpful all the time. The place was kept so clean and had an awesome social lounge area with a beautiful view and plenty of games to play! Location was perfect so close to all the beaches and walks. I extended my stay as I didn’t want to leave. Would highly recommend!

This family-run hostel is a true gem. Yuki and Yumi are so kind and attentive, making you feel right at home! Their care and attention go above and beyond! They offer thoughtful recommendations and guidance to ensure you have the best experience possible. The dorms are cozy and comfortable, and the common area offers amazing views. You can easily walk or bike to several stunning beaches nearby.

The view from the common room is amazing, the facilities have everything you need to cook food and hang out. The host family has gone above and beyond to make our stay memorable and they are really committed to make sure that every guest has a great stay! Everything was near and clean and the beds were firm but comfortable. You can rent a bike for free and explore the beautiful beaches around Shimoda within 10-15 minutes. Although the hills are a little steep sometimes.

Is not really a young hostel. During my staying there were several families occupying the common area with their children, killing the vibes if you are looking for something more ‘young’. But if you are looking just for a place to sleep the place is perfect.

I loved the room, because it had a very good view, good services and also the A/C.

Shimoda as a travel destination is amazing and the guesthouse All You Need worked as a perfect hub to explore the different beaches, onsens, waterfalls, caves etc that the area has to offer. The staff is super friendly and helpful, the property is clean and well kept, the view is gorgeous and the overall vibe is very positive. If I ever come back to Shimoda, I will return here for sure. Thank you for everything!

Amazing views, great share space, easy to rent bikes to ride around town. Rooms and bathrooms were clean and tidy. Hosts were so helpful and friendly. We got stuck during the typhoon and they told us about what trains were cancelled and what alternatives we could take to get back to Tokyo.

In the dorm room, the bunk we stayed in was right next to the toilet, so sometimes you could hear what was going on.

The owners are very lovely and fixed any issues we had promptly. The facilities were great and it was close to a few beaches and the center of town.

The property was lovely! It had such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. There were so many board games to choose from and a nice outdoor BBQ area. There was also a variety of beach equipment you could rent and bicycles to use free of charge. The property has lovely views and is so close to the beach and the host was so nice and very well informed about the area too.

I would have really loved to give the highest score for this hotel, for these people are really great and would deserve it for all the hard work they do. I have to be honest though and say that the only thing that actually was a bit on the downside since we were staying so long, was that the rooms that we rented were on the smaller side (there may have been bigger ones) and there were nowhere to unpack our bags. There were no space for a closet, but some hangers, hooks or shelves would have made a big difference. The boy's room smelled a bit moldy. Nevertheless, our stay was so nice and pleasant we would love to visit again. A good vibe is more important than the practical issues, so you will not regret choosing this place!

The owners are extremely nice and helpful. We stayed for one week and they even did the laundry for us! We loved the common spaces and it was a nice place to hang out and to cook your own food. Free bikes and snorkel gear for your disposal and really "All you need"! The beaches in the area are really great. There are several nice restaurants to choose from and good supermarkets within walking distans.

Walls are thin. Could hear anyone in the hall and next door. Had to rent towels for the room but they provide a bath mat. Evil driveway to walk up to the place. Bit of a walk to/from the train station.

Great view and great staff. Nice community room with fridge/freezer/kitchen and microwave. Rooms were basic with a great view.

It was one of our highlights in Japan. Beautiful place, everything was as described, if not better. You can also rent bikes for free and explore the coast. Our host Yuuki was so nice and kind to us, we'll never forget our time in Shimoda. Thank you Yuuki!
