Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesFront desk staff, some were very helpful but some were very unhelpful; however, everyone was pleasant. Rooms are small but fine; they could use more storage (like a small 3-draw end table between the beds) and some towel hooks on doors/walls) and one chair in room is enough; don’t need two chairs, especially in a small room
Great location. Very clean and modern. Godzilla theme was fun and not overdone.

AustraliaRoom was very small but that is to be expected in Japan.
Great location not far from the train station in a very vibrant part of Tokyo. The hotel has the Godzilla head on the roof so is easy to recognise. Unfortunately it seems that Godzilla is no longer open to viewing to visitors.

EcuadorRoom was a bit small but that was expected for Tokyo.
Very central and a great base to discover Tokyo from. The bathroom with separate bathing room (full tub and stool and basin like in an onsen/spa) was a pleasant surprise!

United StatesWith the bathroom taking up half of the space, the living area feels very cramped. It is not unusual for a big city hotels I guess. Getting to the hotel is an elevator ride to the lobby, then another elevator ride to our rooms. Our concierge tries to be very helpful, but sometimes the limited English makes communications a bit difficult, especially when we had to deal with issues with ever changing updates of an impending typhoon.
Location is unbeatable. Great to have food and stores right next to hotel. Seven Eleven right next door and linked restaurant Sakura has great breakfast buffet for $15 a pop. Hotel rooms were clean and very quiet. I didn't hear any neighbors during the stay

The location was fantastic. Close to Shinjuku station, night-life, restaurants, bars and shopping. Hotel room was very quiet even though the hotel is in a vibrant area.

AustraliaThe beds were a bit too small for us Aussies. We are used to larger double beds. The room is a little cramped but I think this is normal for Tokyo. The location is really busy and a bit hectic and there are always crowds you have to go through to get past if you want to go shopping or to the station. It’s a popular spot for locals too. We came and stayed at Gracery 6 years ago and it wasn’t half as busy.
Location was really convenient to Shinjuku restaurants, shopping and station. The bathroom was spacious and really nice. Late checkout is provided if you join the free hotel membership. The beds are comfortable.

United StatesThe smell of the room it is a bit musty.
I like how quiet the hotel is despite how chaotic the outside of the hotel is (Shinjuku). I like that there's a pajama in the room and replaced daily also the amenities inside the room was great. The staff was super helpful when I needed translation when I was paying for extra luggage, they were very helpful.

CanadaAreas around the hotel are a little rough in the morning as the city crews clean up from the activity from the night before.
Breakfast buffet was excellent and provided my wife with rare Gluten Free options. Location was great...close to the major train station and lots of activity in the area. Room was spacious for three people and all amenities were as described. Also Godzilla!

United StatesRoom was nice but tight: similar in size to a cruise ship stateroom. Clothing storage in our room (a "Superior Double") was limited to hanging space; there was no drawer space in our room so we mostly lived out of our suitcases. The TV had only Japanese language programming, fortunately the WIFI was excellent so we were able to use Netflix for the (very) little TV we did watch.
Staff was very helpful despite any language barriers. Early arrival was handled nicely. Bottled water in room and availability of refrigerator was appreciated. We really appreciated having a guest laundry available. Location was excellent assuming you understand that you'll be staying in the wild Shinjuku Kubukicho area where it's a party every night - sort of like staying on the Las Vegas strip. Proximity to public transport, i.e. trains, subway, buses is excellent (we used them all). Literally hundreds of restaurant and shopping opportunities within easy walking distance. We'd likely choose to stay here again.

Great location, right in the center of Shinjuku. Close to the Golden Gai and Shinjuku station. Comfy beds, Very Clean, Can't hear the noise outside so we slept well Even if you opt for your room not to be cleaned fresh towels and water were left by the door in a bag which was nice.
