Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomCan’t check in until 6pm, unsure if that’s a common theme for love hotels due to hourly use during the day maybe? I have no idea but it is what it is. Bed wasn’t too comfy, pretty hard
10 minute walk to the airport which is good, whole reason for my stay. Room was huge! I did not know it was a love hotel when I booked until I arrived in my room and saw that facilities… HOWEVER room was lovely, room has a jacuzzi ofc and also hair dryer, curler and straightener which was great

JapanThere are few non-smoking rooms and the cost ¥1,000 more than booking price. In fact, the booking.com did not mention anything about smoking or non-smoking rooms. I thought I would need to stay somewhere else but it was nearly 11pm. Somehow the staff found me a room, after saying there were none. The first non-smoking, +¥1,000 room was actually smokey, so I went back to the front desk, told the lady, and somehow she managed to get me in a room that really was non-smoking. Long night, thankful that in the end I didn’t have to bash this place in the review. They weren’t even going to give me a refund when I said I couldn’t stay there if they only had (heavily!) smokey rooms. It’s a love hotel but the way

NetherlandsIt's not one place for family with kids, but perfext for couples to have fun en good time. Poor breakfast, not so much variaty. Comunication is very dificult, you wil go to need one translation. The terrible smell of cigarettes, should be nice to have rooms for not smokers.
The location, 10 min walking from the airport. The massage chair, after one long stress travel day was really amazing. The nice details for one couple to have one good time.

SingaporeLocation is a minus as it’s 15min walk from the Itami Airport and any train stations are quite a long walk away. There are also not many restaurants nearby. However, we booked this area to be closer to the Cup Noodles Museum (distance is within affordable Uber ride there) and Minoh falls. The room is generally clean but design does have the ickiness of a love hotel. Bed was quite hard and windows are frosted, with no view and little natural lighting. The check-in time is 6pm which is later than average but you can deposit your luggage with the staff, no problem.
although this is considered a love hotel by Japanese standards, the experience for tourists is unlike any other. For the great price, you get a HUGE room, complete with massage chair, bathroom and a big jacuzzi hot tub, karaoke microphones, sofa, sizeable coffee table and a vanity table.

United KingdomThe room was not geared up for looking out the window! Quite poluted air from the nearby roads an airport. Being a ‘love hotel’ has its quirks - a lot of sex references (adult tv etc) but not in a way which I felt threatened by.
Spacious room, comfy massage chair, friendly staff. Bath was a jacuzzi - made my first night in Japan very comfy.

United StatesAside from its proximity to the airport, it isn’t in a good walking area and isn’t close to food and shopping. Couples looking for a little escape without leaving the room should enjoy. *However, if you’re put off by eccentricity and not traveling with your partner, note this is a Love hotel. An Austin Powers Japanese rendezvous spot… with Christmas motif. It’s hilarious.
We loved the massage chair, especially after a very long travel day. Very conveniently located within walking distance of the airport.

United States- the bed was a VERY firm platform bed and did not have a mattress of the type Americans are used to. I was able to sleep anyway, but if you need a normal mattress, this is not for you. - there were no windows we could open for a view—the windows were frosted glass, and the outside road very noisy, so we kept the shutters closed which they have in front of the windows.
This hotel is so close to the Osaka airport that we easily walked there with our carry-on bags. Our room had so many amenities, I could hardly believe it—including a massage chair! Every possible bathroom amenity was in place, and the mini-bars were well stocked. There was even built-in karaoke!
