We did have an issue with the laundry that was resolved. I couldn’t find any information regarding laundry or costings so had called and they sent someone up to collect our laundry bags. The bill ended up being $580 AUD (we were under the assumption it was complimentary) - they did give us heavy discounts however wish our laundry wasn’t accepted without confirming our consent and understanding of the costs involved - I would have instead used a $5 coin laundry.

We don’t often stay in ‘nice hotels’ so this was such a treat. The service is truly 5 stars. The hotel itself feels very luxurious through every touch. It was nice to have the swimming pool as being Summer and Aussies, we had missed being able to have a splash. Tattoos needed to be covered up, but it was open all day without reservations which was great compared to other hotels. Our view overlooked a Temple, the Kyoto Tower and some mountains. Room was spacious. Location good, close enough walk to Kyoto station. We didn’t dine onsite.

It is one of the best hotels in Kyoto. The staff was super nice. The rooms are clean and spacious. The service was exceptional. The hotel is very close to Kyoto station as well as other stations. We also used the concierge services, and Yukari was very nice and helped us with everything. Highly recommend coming. You won't regret it.

there was a small misunderstanding during my check in, the reception said my room included breakfast but it charged in bill when I checked out. it took a while to waive the charge but the staff was patient and very polite while we resolve the bill issue.

breakfast was amazing. I used to stay at the ritz carlton for all of my stay when in kyoto but I looked too last minute and most of the luxury hotels was full already. with this price it's definitely value for money!

I would have liked if the swimming pool and the sauna were open late as they currently close at 9pm so if you're busy sightseeing during the day there's not really time in the day when you can use it, thus only my wife managed to use it once in the morning. The lights in the room are confusing (if you press the master light button twice it for some reason switches the bathroom light on and then refuses to turn it off so you have to get out of bed to do it... Before I figured it out I had to walk back and forth several times before I realized what it was doing) I wished breakfast would have more Japanese food options, it's mainly Thai and western food

The staff at Dusit Thani were incredibly hospitable and helpful. The rooms have a beautiful design and are very spacious. We enjoyed our visit to the spa and pool as well. A true 5 star hotel experience!

The restaurants were empty and we wondered why, we recommended friends stay and they said that the drinks and food were quite expensive which is a shame as we probably would have had dinner in if there was more atmosphere in the dining areas.
