SingaporeCustomer Service could have been more friendly at the reception counter. Staffs are very static and always stationed at the reception counter and not moving elsewhere to welcome incoming and outgoing guests at the lobby area.
The Hotel is best for Business Trips, as we work out most of the day. And at the end of the day. Rest and Recharge to another day. The Rooms are comfortable, and it is very near to the Utsunomiya JR Station.

New ZealandI found the bed quite hard though my wife had no problems.
Near the station, this hotel has excellent check in (2pm) and check out (11am) times and has English speaking staff available. The room - we booked a twin - was spacious with a well-sized bath. We only got fresh towels on the second day so we wouldn't be bothered with cleaning.

United StatesA gym would be a great addition for the hotel. Different choices for breakfast throughout the week. It was the same everyday. Unfortunately, one morning at breakfast I was completely ignored by a staff member. While three Japanese guests that walked in after me were seated and served before I was even spoken too. This was absolutely a discrimination issue.

MalaysiaThe room size was a bit small for a family of 1 adult and 2 children. We had difficulties to open up our luggage in the limited space. Bed was a bit hard, and our check in process took quite some time as the front desk staff mixed up my booking details with someone else's. The hotel's internal heater temperature was quite high once we entered the lobby itself, it was quite stuffy.

Hong KongWe stayed one night in the Deluxe Twin Room for three of us. Room is clean and neat, size is ok as described. Each bed was big. With the 3rd bed installed, the room became smaller :-) It was a surprise to see the massage chair inside the room, it could be an add-up bonus for some guests, but for us, we prefer more area in the room :-) The toilet was separated with the bathroom, convenient for family. But the door to separate the bathtub and the powder room was a glass door, so only one person occupy the whole bathroom at a time. The restaurant for breakfast was pretty. They provided three choices: 2 Japanese set and 1 Western set. They also provided Japanese appetizer, coffee, tea, juice etc. Their own car park was small, parking fee for overnight was Yen 1,000. But you may choose to park just opposite for Yen 800 or other nearby carpark with similar charges.

CanadaOn the map, it was right in front of Utsunomiya station but it was invisible and a bit hard to locate the hotel from the station. Even though we put the "do not need to clean our room" sign, they provided ALL amenities by hanging big practic bags on the door.... from the "save the environment" point of view, it was totally unnecessary....

JapanThe staff at the front tried very hard to speak English, however, if he had listened, he could have ascertained that I was actually speaking Japanese to him. The location was somewhat uninteresting.
This hotel seems to be reasonably new. The room was nice. The location is relatively close to the JR and Shinkansen station in what seems like a recently constructed area of the Utsunomiya town centre.

New ZealandI booked 2 adults and 1 teenager. I was given three beds in other Daiwa hotels during the trip. I did not expect that this hotel has to do the same in a twin room. However, it is a extremely bad experience to see only two pillows and two pairs of slippers,though3 tooth pastes and brushes. I was even told that the kid would not need breakfast voucher and can go with us. But when we reach the restaurant, it wasn't the case. We thanks the staff ( the lady staff who gave us the extra pillow and the slipper and a male staff who gave us another breakfast voucher in the morning. However, it was not acceptable to receive such an experience when checking in. I hope that this basic issue would not occur again as I had a good impression in another Dawai hotel.
