Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AlgeriaThe room was small and you can hear everything from your neighborhoods. What i didn't like is that they didn't change the bed ( covers, pillows..) everyday like the other hotels, they only change it when someone check out . You need to ask them to change it for you and they will. There's only one bath near to the reception for all guests
Staff was helpful and so nice to me even i got sick there they keep asking about le and health so lovely The location was near from Minami-senju station Near to Asakusa old town and the skyline, sumida river and many attractions

Germany- since the bathrooms were for men and women together, it was a little uncomfortable sometimes - some guests were smoking in the hallway so it sometimes smelled unpleasant because it came a bit into the room
- the staff was very friendly and helpful - the location was great! quiet but convenient. the bus station and a supermarket are right around the corner - everthing was clean - the room was very big and enough for myself as a solo traveler

NetherlandsPublic spaces are a little bit dated. Had to pay with cash, no nearby bankmachines that excepted my creditcards (only visa’s) so had to walk ten minutes to the nearest seven eleven.
Exceptional private room for a low fare. The room is pretty clean, and there are big windows that I could open to let in fresh air. The room was specious enough for my suitcases after rolling out my bed. There was also a quiet airconditioning that I used, it worked very well.

New ZealandBathrooms were shared for women and men which would be fine if the urinals werent right infront of where the door opened, rather daunting to use them as a woman. They were also very dirty as was most of the hotel but only really a issue in the bathrooms… they really needed a mop
Vending machines downstairs were great hot water/tea on each floor was very convenient and the room was very cozy. Good baths too

FranceSome Chinese tourists were really loud during my stay, but I guess they didn't know about Japanese rules. (Always be aware of others and be respectful).
Extremely kind and patient staff, I asked him to repeat more slowly in Japanese, and he did it very gently. Also helped me with some English words. Good room, and you even have an onsen! Please be sure to respect the culture when coming. The slippers you have on your room are there because you shall not use your shoes inside! Same for the bathroom ones, pls use them when entering in it. Really cheap, worth the money! すごかったです~ どうもありがとうございました。

AustraliaSmell. I chose non smoking room, and I wouldn't say that the room smelled like smoke but it just had a strange scent to it. I remember waking up a few times and immediately noticing it. I found it easy to ignore/fall back asleep, but it's not something I would want to smell long term. I would feel ok to stay here again if they fix the smell. The room is clearly old and a little discolored. Nothing was visibly unclean, however due to discoloration I feel that the tatami are not thoroughly clean lol. Sinks for washing up are in the hallway. It's unfortunate if you are a bit too anxious to brush/shave around other people.
Cheap, convenient, receptionist was adorable, sweet, and really enthusiastic. She spoke english as well. I think she was the highlight of my night here. The futon/bedding was clean. Hangers provided. Shared shower only on first floor, was clean. You can view Tokyo Skytree from outside the HALLWAY window. It was unfortuantely not visible from within the room. I did not test the TV. I did not use the mini fridge.
