Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PhilippinesI can't think of any! Probably the 2 day deadline for the luggage to be brought to the airport but other than that, none that's within their control.
The hotel was able to send my luggage to Narita airport via Yamato (must be done 2 days in advance). The hotel was also close to most major tourist spots (10-25mins away via train) - Tokyo station, Ginza, Akihabara, Asakusa, Ueno. There's a 7/11 across the hotel and a 24hr pharmacy near the intersection where the hotel is. So many food options and near A2 exit of Awajicho station (for those needing an elevator, there's an elevator to get to above ground right beside A2 exit.- if I remember correctly). It was easy (and fast!) to get to Narita as I only needed to go to Keisei Ueno station for the skyliner going to the airport (had to take a cab because i bought too many stuff, station was about 14mins away via cab). There's also a laundry machine (washer and dryer in 1) an ice machine, a microwave and vendo for drinks. Best part - free coffee and drinks at the lobby (you also get the hotel amenities as needed, also at the lobby). They also clean the room daily even if you don't post a sign.

United KingdomI like the convenience of the location, it was easy to get to Shinjuku, Shibuya, Ginza, and Harajuku. The hotel is around the corner from Akihibara which was only a ten minute walk away and it was also a quick train ride from Machiya which I went to for the gym! They replaced our towels everyday, the shower was lovely with good pressure and temperature control and could be a bath if you needed. The room temperature was easy to control and our floor had a coin launderette so we could wash our clothes. They provided us with toothbrushes, shampoo, and body wash and wash cloths could be retrieved from the front desk. Lots of amenities to use and they’re very helpful.

VietnamThe pillows were stuffed with some sort of plastic material which wasn’t very comfortable. Also, the bed was more of a sofa bed with a mattress topper rather than an actual mattress with springs so it wasn’t the most comfortable
The hotel and room was very clean. It had a great location which was central in the city. The shower was excellent. Coffee and water was available and the hotel had a nice lobby area to sit in.

AustraliaRoom on the smaller side but reasonable for Japan, hard to have suitcase open in the room.
Location very convenient, short walk to a handful of subway lines. There’s a convenience store just outside the hotel as well.

United StatesEverything was great.
The staff at Belken were friendly; my room was very clean; the mattress was comfortable; and the hotel is close to several subway stations. Two of them are just a 2-3 minute walk away, and the larger station (Kanda) is an 8-10 minute walk. Bonus: I was able to adjust the air conditioning in my room (which is not a given in Japan) as needed so I didn't break out in sweat at night.

IndonesiaThis is our 2nd stay in Belken Hotel Kanda. Unfortunately the room is not as spacious as before. I wish we booked earlier. The free coffee was just ok.
1. Close to combini store just right in the corner of the street, 2. the hotel is clean.

GreeceA bit better lighting in bathroom. Room booked not that spacious but this is common in Japan. We kept only 1 large baggage in the room to be comfortable and they stroraged our 2nd.
Staff very kind and helpful, amenities free of charge coffee/ water. Bath salt to relax after long days and walking huge distances. Very comfortable beds. Right next to Subway and close to JR Kanda station. Clean rooms. We asked if we could storage 1 large bag 8 days before our check in and they assisted us. Great convenience for our trip!

AustraliaEverything was perfect! Location was in a quiet spot but still very close to the station. All the staff at reception were exceptionally friendly and professional! The cleaning staff did an amazing job. Our room was cleaned to perfection daily! We expected the room to be small like lots of rooms in Japan and we did not mind. We made it work and we had two suitcases so it was not a problem. Lots of amenities in the lobby too. We would stay there again!

PhilippinesThis hotel makes for a great base for exploring Tokyo due to it's location. The nearest subway station is a maximum 3 min walk from the hotel while the JR lines are around a 10 min walk. Akihabara is also close, being a 15 minute walk away. Convenience stores, pharmacies and restaurants are also close to the hotel. The room is quite big compared to what I expected from a business hotel in Tokyo and has quite a lot of features (WiFi, washlet, tub, bunch of hangers, etc.). Amenities are standard hotel fare and they change all towels daily. Staff are very kind, understanding and helpful. When I asked them to keep my luggage before leaving the hotel, I lost my claim tag and the staff kindly gave me my stuff back with no fuss.

United StatesThe room was on the smaller side (not a lot of room to lounge other than using the bed) so it was tough to open/close both of our suitcases around each other, but this minor as it's not unexpected of hotels in Tokyo.
We stayed here for 5 nights for the first leg of our trip in Tokyo. The room and facilities were spotless, and coffee + water cooler in the lobby was especially appreciated for refilling our water bottles! Fresh linens (towels + PJs) every day, and bottled water. Good sized bed for two people. Location is great, with a 7/11 across the street, and Toei and Tokyo Metro Line stops just around the corner. Only a little further to the JR station (Kanda), but wasn't an issue for us as we didn't use the JR Pass anyway. Hotel had luggage shipping pickup via Yamato Transport, so it was easy to ship our luggage to our next hotel in Kyoto.

GermanyDuring our first night we had a set of hard pillows (with bead like pearl in it). I informed them and they gave us soft pillows the next day. Maybe it is common in Japan because we also have it in our hotel in Osaka but it is uncomfortable. The bathroom smells old,I don't know how to describe it but it is clean.
Great location and the rooms are Sound proof which is really a good thing for light sleeper like me. The staff are very accommodating and attentive to the needs of their guests.

IndonesiaSecond stay in Belken Hotel, the quality and hospitality have been maintained well. Really worth the price as the room is bigger compared to other hotels in Tokyo. The hotel is close to three stations, so you have many options to reach your to-go tourist attractions. Since it’s business area, you can find many affordable restaurants around the hotel. Just follow the queue of salaryman/working people.
