Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ThailandOnly 1 elevator. It wasn't an issue really except the 1 time I needed to head out at about 7:30AM. That's rush hour for local business travellers to get to their offices. Even so, it wasn't a ridiculous wait but it is something to at least consider if you're on a schedule.
Convenient location.. a short hike to Tsukiji or Ginza. 7-11 nearby (but face it Lawson, 711, Family Mart etc are everywhere). Short ride to Tokyo Station. Spotless room, comfortable full double bed and adequate amenities Wonderful staff Great value for such a central location... But you don't get a lot of space (or a view) at this price point.

United StatesThe staff was unable to speak English. All five people of the staff in front of me at check-in could not have a conversation other than the sentences they memorized. I had to call someone capable of speaking Japanese to explain to them what I needed (holding my languages for a couple of hours before check-in)
It was a clean room with a comfortable bed. According to Japanese standards, the bath was sufficiently well-equipped and had a good-sized bathtub. It was a relatively quiet environment, and the position was okay.

Hong KongRooms are very small, good for a single person per room. I was traveling with my wife. You can't keep 2 luggage bags in the room properly. There were days when it wasn't very cold and we wanted air-con but the rooms were centralized heaters so we were feeling very hot. We kept windows open but windows had a lock to allow us to open at a certain gap. we couldn't sleep because it was hot. We did ask for air-con but they refused. It's good for business travelers.
Bed was comfortable! Bathrooms were very clean. Staff was very good.

SingaporeAPA has very strict policies for everything. Wanted to ask for late check out but was told to pay 1000yen for every hour extended. Water bottles also weren't refilled every day, no biggy because tap water is drinkable, just shows the level of service for the hotel. It's one of the smallest hotels in tokyo I've stayed in. Pretty sure because it's in Ginza, no choice since we chose to stay in such an expensive area.
It was one of the cheaper options in ginza. Can leave my luggages there for a day after check out.

TaiwanThere is no change in the breakfast staples. They are all bread with vegetables and eggs. They are the same every day. This is the only drawback.
The coffee for breakfast is very good. Coffee produced by professional coffee machines, multiple options, too. People who don’t drink coffee can also choose hot milk or juice.

Indonesiathe space of the room is really small, although ive seen the photos from the review when we saw it in person we were still shock. we stayed for 6 nights so we use large suitcases, no space left when we open our suitcases and we need to jump to get into the bathroom. the aircon is centralized and during winter it turns into a heater only, one day the temperature was not too cold outside so we felt really hot inside the room and we ask the staff but they have no solution but to only open the window, while outside environment smells bad because many restaurants around the hotel. we managed to sleep without the blanket and still sweating. Most of the staff really cannot speak english so its hard to communicate, using google translate can help a lot. check in time is 3 PM but checkout time is at 10 AM not like other hotel
the location of the hotel was near the 2 stations so it was easy to travel around. the bed and blanket was comfortable , amenities were all complete. we can request daily room cleaning and its done very well. price is very reasonable

PhilippinesCommunication. Few staff understand English. We asked how to get to Tokyo Air station and nobody knew until it was time for us to go home, we were handed directions on how to go to that station and it was too late we already hired a private van. We're so sad to spend so much compared if we took the taxi.
Toiletries. Bathroom. They provided us with what we need. The location is good close to almost all places.
