Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandIt's not an all-inclusive. It's full board with some drinks (which does not include red wine). All food, ice creams, snacks, etc between the three meals had to be paid for, including our first meal as we arrived just after lunch. Had never experienced that before.
The views were incredible from everywhere. We adored the sunsets. Great facilities and lovely staff. The beds were very comfortable and the room was a good size.

United KingdomIt is a very large resort, although we were pleased that it wasn't very busy when we were there. Staff weren't as friendly as I would expected from Sicilians. I would have liked more fresh fruit at breakfast. Synthetic pillows weren't very comfortable.
Well located for easy access to Palermo and the airport. Amazing view of the sea from the balcony, and as west we enjoyed lovely sunsets. Large sized room and bathroom. Great selection of facilities. Absolute highlight was the wonderful waterslides.

MaltaThe food was disaster! Every day almost same ... what is shame if the hotel is this nice the food should be that good also . The nights was terrible. Other guests were really loud. I don't know if there is any security who can go around but every night was a nightmare. Impossible to sleep.
The hotel was really nice, and the activity programs are truly good. Also the receptionist ( a young girl) she was super friendly .

South AfricaThe food was generally quite bland and the resort was very noisy with kids. A suggestion is to have an adults-only pool or bar area.
Beautiful setting on the edge of the ocean. We loved the ability to swim in the sea and the slides were a great addition.

Canadaoverall low food quality, no control over serving the food which resulted in much food and beverage wastage. Also, tons of plastic cups used ..not environmentally friendly. There is a need for adult only sections during meals and pool time. There were many screaming kids everywhere..it’s annoying to the many couples that come here without kids. Perhaps the resort can have an adult only restaurant and pool.
Location. Beautiful surroundings. lush gardens and vegetation. Sea view from the room. entertainment. lively atmosphere.

MaltaOne may get tired of the mass production system. Staff at times laid back especially to book il siciliano restaurant which is more of the same. Drinks are nit genuine with the exception of martini. Not everything is inclusive such as snacks and certain coffees. Rooms feel a little tired in terms of decor. Gymnasiun all broken. It should not even be open as it is a health hazard. Evening entertainment could be richer especially in the peek season. Communication with front desk could be further expedited.
Location and views from Saedignia building are incredible. Parking facilities are good. Sweet train around the village. Room service by maids is daily and efficient.

Poland- evening shows and all entertainment were conducted in Italian. No English at all. We felt excluded. - breakfast looked exactly the same each day. No vegetables at all. I would expect to have more healthy options instead of croissants, cakes, bacon.
+ perfect location with the outstanding seaview + range of delicious meals served on lunch and dinner + helpful staff and our room was cleaned every day

RomaniaWe didn't like the ants in our rooms, I think the hotel should find a solution to keep them out. We didn't like the little plastic glasses at the bar - they were too little for the hot summer days and produced too much garbage. It was difficult to make a reservation for the Pizzeria restaurant or Il Siciliano. The application didn't work, and you have to go to the reception to get it. Finally, we weren't able to reserve to Pizzeria, even though we tried in the last couple of days.
We really enjoyed our experience with Citta del Mare, we liked the sea view from almost all the places in the complex, the large terraces, and the spacious rooms. Wonderful flowers and vegetation all around. The rooms were clean , fresh towels every day, and the beds were comfortable. We liked the Sicilian food, especially in the restaurant Sala del Golf , where they prepared fish and meat on the huge barbecue in the middle of the restaurant. The main restaurant was also good, with a wider range of choices. The kids' club was well organised and children enjoyed spending their time together, even none of them spoke English. Also, Kids' disco was a good idea, but it was too late. I would suggest changing the time at least half an hour earlier, starting at 9 pm instead of 9,30. The Olympic swimming pool was great, but we preferred the smaller pool for children. We tried one morning also the beach. It was nice, with sunbeds and umbrellas, but for a family with children was more comfortable at the swimming pool.

United KingdomNice room but spoiled by the inappropriately small shower. Music too loud poolside.
Location, facilities, food, friendly staff. Food excellent and varied, was treated with lobster and oysters on Ferragosto night, but even on standard nights it was excellent. The restaurant booking via the app is terrible so we gave up and stayed with the buffet.

IrelandFor the price we paid and the 4 Star rating, I'd have expected the food to be better. There was a sameness to it each day. The fresh fruit was lovely though. Secondly, there was a lot of plastic used, particularly the disposable plastic cups at all the bars.
The staff were very friendly and professional. The place was always clean. My teenage son loved every minute of every day. There were activities for teenagers all day and all evening.

BelgiumLittle information at the reception. some of the staff at the reception was unfriendly. The staff at the bar and restaurant was friendly. The system of the reservation of the restaurant was very poor: I’ve tried five times to make a reservation at the pizzeria and I always received a negative reply. When I asked at the reception they couldn’t help me.
The location and the view was already a value for the money! The excursion to the grottes of Terrasini with the boat (organised by the hotel) was great!

DenmarkThe food in the buffet was not good enough! The variation was low, it was not very delicious and most meals we ate more to get full than to enjoy the food. The dining halls are extremely chaotic and noisy, so the eating situation was stressful.
The facilities were nice and with good variation for an active holiday. The personnel were extremely nice whether it being the cleaning staff, the young entertainment team or bar staff. The area is quite nice and the view is great. Good bed!

United StatesPools closing at 6pm??? Absolutely unnecessary and ridiculous. American pools stay open till 10pm and we were disappointed that pools were unavailable after six. Also breakfast should be open till 10am not 9am. We missed all the breakfast buffets due to early closing time.
We loved having the three pools available as some were filled with toddlers but the Olympic size pool was wonderful. I wish they opened later than a ridiculous closing time of 6pm. I also liked the all-inclusive option as our parse family appreciated the convenience and simplicity of staying on property to eat. All staff were kind and helpful.

United KingdomGot very very busy on the last night and it felt like the staff were caught unawares a little bit. Almost every new guest on that day was Italian so both the general atmosphere and the hospitality of the staff changed and not necessarily for the better of the non-Italian guests (don't get me wrong, I love Italians and of course we're in Italy, but they can be a lively bunch let's say). I can see where some of the negative reviews are coming from however personally we had absolutely no problems other than feeling "swamped" on our last night. Also, the Il Siciliano resort is criminally underused. A really lovely terrace restaurant that just had the same food as the main dining hall! Perhaps later in the season they fire up the nice-looking outdoor oven.
Staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Dinner was good, lacked variety from time to time but overall each meal enjoyable. A few facilities were shut owing to the time of year but all pools open and toboggan great fun. Shuttle to beach was helpful and readily available. When quiet this is a fabulous resort. We hired a car so location was fine, car is definitely recommended for Sicily in general. Would highly recommend visiting in the low season for (non-Italian) families.

ItalyI didn’t like the fact that they were serivimg unlimited drinks in plastic glass, not sustainable at all. In addiction the quality of the food was so low and the food itself was so bad, they weren’t serving the traditional Italian meals. I wouldn’t suggest anyone to choose this place
I liked the facilities such as the various sports courts, the swimming pools and the activities organized by the staff of the hotel
