The bumpy track to the B&B and the animals wouldn’t be for everyone

Villa San Marco is a beautiful B&B, with exceptional views over the temples, the staff were so helpful with our stay giving us great advice visiting the temples and Punta Bianco, we had a problem with our rental car which they helped us resolve with a local garage. The breakfast was the best we had in Sicily!

Driving in Sicily is not for the feint of heart, but if you’re willing to get off the beaten track and away from the crowds this place is well worth it.

The view of the Temples from our place was stunning! Rooms were clean and the staff were wonderful and welcoming. Breakfast was authentic Sicilian with all sorts of variety.

It's an exceptional place to stay, right within the archaeological area in Agrigento. The Valley of Temples can be seen from the Villa, beautiful garden and the host family is fantastic! The breakfast was a unique experience as well made from local ingredients. Definitely recommend and will come back.

Beds were not very comfortable, tv was not working, breakfast was not included and expensive.

Location was perfect for visiting the Temples. It was very relaxed, lots of seating areas for guests, easy access to beer and wine. Owners were very friendly. Peacocks and farm animals were noisy but fun to watch.

The place to stay in Agrigento

    Nothing

I believe this is the best accommodation to stay in while visiting Agrigento, making a stretch of dirt road worthwhile driving to get there. Being inside the Valle dei Templi National Park, it still retains old Sicilian countryside charm, immersed in Mediterranean macchia trees, surrounded by orchards and olive groves. The view of the temples just added to the magic... Old structures are nicely renovated and have all of the modern comforts. The owners are very attentive and courteous. Breakfast - superb.

Some people may be put off by the narrow and dusty and rutted 1.2km road , but it didn’t bother us ( we’re Aussies, we can take it ! ) , it was part of the charm .

Wonderful farm like rural property but in the heart of Agrigento’s historical sites - you can clearly see the Temple of Concordia just 750m away on a hill, from the swimming pool or dining deck . Rooms have everything you need , Aircon, kettle, and there’s onsite parking and lots of delightful animals like miniature piglets, peacocks , lots of birds , to pet .

Super wonderful experience - the Villa is gorgeous, the owners are very welcoming and gracious, the property is very unique with peacocks and nice dogs give a feel of a rustic authenticity, the hospitality is exceptional, delicious breakfast is a must. The unpaved road leading to the villa is bit tricky - be careful but it's not as bad as it might seem at first. We drove to and from the villa a few times and it's not too bad. Recommend with great enthusiasm!

At first we were intimidated by the dirt road leading to the B&B. Very rough, narrow with huge potholes. But by the third time driving it, we became pros at dealing with it.

Ideally located, very close to the Park and very close to the city. It's a family owned farm complete with wandering peacocks, dogs, cats, and lots of cute piglets. Everyone we encountered was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was wonderful, served on a patio overlooking the temples. The view at night was magical too...the temples are lighted and you can see them from your room.

We didn't have a problem with the dirt road to the B&B with the SUV we were driving , but be ready to drive on ruts in the road. The distance on the dirt road is not far.

It was wonderful to stay at this quirky B&B on a family farm, with friendly dogs and incredible views of the Greek temples. Breakfast was wonderful homemade food including orange marmelade made from oranges grown on site. There are excellent restaurants a few minutes drive from the B&B if you don't want to go into Agrigento town for dinner. We could stay only one night and then see the temples the following morning; I wish we had time to spend another night here and take time for the museum and to explore Agrigento town, and also to spend more time relaxing in this peaceful rural setting. Communication with the hosts was excellent, including detailed instructions with photos of where to find the road to the B&B. I would definitely stay here again.

Great place for a family trip with a garden where our kids played and lots of animals within the hotel area - like even several peacocks ! Also it's situated with an incredible view of valley of temples. The breakfast is yummy and everything is home made. I would suggest improving the swimming pool and pool area a little and propose dinner at the hotel as well. If you would like to go to a restaurant the closest nice restaurants are 20 minutes walking distance. Overall a great experience !

The road in is very rough and goes on for quite a distance. It discouraged us from going out at night for dinner. We were also surprised that we had to pay 12 euros each for breakfast, which we thought, from the Booking.com description was included. The breakfast was worth it but the cost was unexpected and it was not easy to drive out and go somewhere nearby if we did not want to pay.

The people. There was also some good food, for breakfasts and dinners, if you wanted to pay for that extra. Then there is the location and looking out over the ruins during the day or lit up at night. The room was quite spacious and had we brought food we could have made our own meals. There was a wall of windows and sliding doors which allowed us to watch the peacocks strutting about. Still it was the people running the place and the little extras they did that made it nice.

By reading earlier reviews we knew already: the road can be a challenge but also adds a bit to the excitement.

We liked the location, in the countryside but by car very close to Agrigento and the Valle dei Templi. Nice homemade breakfast on a terrace with view on the Templi. We had room 1, with 2 benches to enjoy the sun and also a covered terrace. Big bathroom. Our children loved the animals, especially the dogs. Very friendly host, Salvatore. Relaxed atmosphere.

It is a long, rough dirt road to get to the place, which we weren’t expecting.

It is located within the archeological park and you can seem all of the ancient temples from the patio. We’ll never forget seeing the full moon over the Temple of Concordia as we made our way to our room. The breakfast was abundant and filled with food made from the farm’s produce.
