Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere’s not much to find fault with as the hotel is lovely. The pillows were rock hard and a mixture of densities would have been nice.
This property was amazing and we loved the both the facilities and the location. The room was lovely, the gardens were beautiful and the staff friendly. Don’t be put off by the bathroom being outside your room.. this is a minor inconvenience made up for by the location. The gardens are a great place to enjoy the complementary pastries and coffee in the morning. The location is 10-15 walk from the Vatican and about 30 mins walk from the colosseum. Additionally, it’s 2 mins from a bustling restaurant area, where I had the best pasta of my life for €9!! I would highly recommend and hope to return :)

Lithuania-
The place of this hotel is perfect! We arrived to the centre of city region called Trastevere is about 5mins. There are so many good restaurants and we noticed that this part of the city was much more active than Rome old town. Nice surprise was light breakfast with various sandwitches, sweet buns and drinks. The outside terrace was amazing as well with many tables for eating or chilling. The windows of our room were directed to garden so it was very quiet and calm. We slept very well.

United KingdomThere was nothing that I didn't like. The room was quite small, and very basic and stark and reminded me of university accommodation which some people might not like, but that didn't bother me at all. 😀
Excellent location in Trastevere (and a short walk from the centro storico) but just outside the more touristy part down a very quiet side street. A friendly, smiley welcome from Tony at reception who gave me all the information I needed including restaurant recommendations. The room was very clean and had everything I could need from towels, bath robe and hotel slippers. There was a wash basin and a mini fridge with a bottle of water in it. The bed was very comfortable and I had the best night's sleep for years (not joking, although it might have had something to do with all the walking I did!). I found the hotel generally very peaceful (and that was even before I discovered the chapel). I was pleasantly surprised to find the room had air con as I had received a message from them after booking in which they apologised that there was no air con. I'm guessing it was newly installed. The shared bathrooms were close to my room, plentiful and scrupulously clean. They provided everything from soap/shampoo to shower caps, even toothbrushes and toothpaste. They offered a lovely complimentary pastry and coffee for breakfast. And last but by no means least, the garden. A beautiful tranquil spot which guests have access to 24 hours. I enjoyed my breakfast in a shady spot, and just when I was thinking it couldn't get better I heard little munching noises and discovered they had pet rabbits in a pen! 😍 It far exceeded my expectations considering it was the cheapest option I could see on Booking.com that wasn't a hostel.

NetherlandsThe sink in our room did not run properly and smelled a bit. The external bathroom was small, but comfortable enough. Its only downside was the lack of ventilation, which made it smelly and moist for some hours after showering.
The garden was absolutely lovely. The hotel has a great location, with peace and quiet at night and the heart of Trastevere at a walking distance. The people at the reception were very kind and accommodating. We appreciated the breakfast, though basic. The room was simple, but comfortable and quite clean.

United StatesThe breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The property with it with its beautiful garden was comfortable and centrally located, with close proximity to many sites and areas in the city. Special acknowledgment to the wonderful staff especially Giorgio and Marzia who were tremendously helpful and knowledgeable of the city, sharing notable destinations while being professional, pleasant, kind and welcoming.

PolandQuite a long walk to the main tourist attractions beside Vatican city but that made the stay feel more "locally". The bathrooms and rooms need a little bit of renovation.
Very cute and nice garden inside the property, tasty small but free breakfast, got a room with air conditioning so that was amazing in summer heat. The bathroom was outside the room but I got a rope and slippers so it wasn't that big of a deal. Fun location near the main night-life in Trastevere, 20min to Vatican city.
