Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room was very comfortable and even if I opted for a shared bathroom, it was all very regularly cleaned and is amenities are provided for like bathrobe, slippers on top of the towels. Airconditioning and fan and TV in the room. Great value for money! Relaxing garden and although no breakfast is advertised, the place still offered drinks and bread in the mornings! Amazing!

ItalyNothing really. The only inconvenient would be the bathroom being outside but still… it was so clean and organised that it wasn’t really a problem. Just be ready to hear doors slamming by the morning when people start to wake up and go use them.
I had the best stay in this place. Super quiet and tranquil although is located near the heart of trastevere. Price was great for all I had. Bedroom is simple but comfortable, the garden is simply amazing, so cute and nice to chill for a bit. You see nature and hear birds singing by the morning. Room has lots of amenities that I wasn’t expecting! They say there’s no breakfast included but in reality, you get some nice snacks by the morning that to me were enough. Not to mention the historical building that has even a chapel inside. Really want to come back and stay for more days next time!

UkraineIt was surprising to find cosy and quiet corner in the extremely busy and bustling Rome. Although the room isn't too big, you can find there everything you need. The most enjoyble was the view from the window to the Botanic Garden. The hosts don't offer a lavish breakfast, but a fresh sandwich with a croissant and a cup of coffee is exactly what you need in the morning eager to see more landmarks. The staff was very helpful. Tony even helped me with the tickets and the routes which was very kind of him.

I adore this hotel and stay here every time I come to Rome. The street is beautiful and quiet and perfectly located, the staff are kind and warm and the bunnies in the garden are a lovely touch. I actively like the fact the private bathrooms are separate from the rooms, too

Villa riara is a little gem of tranquillity and peace, close to bustling streets of restaurants & walking distances to many attractions. My room overlooked the beautiful garden and i could open two windows to hear birds in the botanical garden behind the villa. The staff were all friendly and informative -and the breakfast was a delightful extra -oh, the bed was comfortable! The history of the building was fascinating.

United StatesI upgraded my room so I would have a larger bed and private bathroom. However, the bathroom was private but still not in the room. Plus, the larger bed was actually 2 twin beds pushed together, and they weren't the same height or the same firmness. As a result, I slept on a twin mattress after paying to upgrade. I would stay here again but not upgrade. It wasn't worth it.v
The room has been renovated and has air conditioning! Otherwise. It's very basic and could use some type of wall hangings or something to make it more appealing. The widows looked out over the lovely garden. They provide a robe and slippers. The staff was so helpful and patient with my lack of Italian. The breakfast was fantastic as well. The place is kept very clean. I
