Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThe stairs are beautiful but not at all suitable if you have any type of mobility issues.
I loved my stay at Teatro Pace! I had a super cute single room which was ideal for a solo traveller. The location is great next to Piazza Navona, tons of restaurants within a 2 minute walk including an excellent pizza slice place right at the end of the street. Very easy to walk to the major sights of Rome. The street is quiet at night and I felt safe walking around after dark The balcony is lovely and had a great view over the rooftops with birds chirping in the morning. Super comfortable bed and pillows, clean towels and hot shower. Highly recommend, especially for female solo travellers.

United StatesUnfortunately we had the people in the next room that came I. 1:30-2:00 am and were very loud for 45 min. Because there is no staff at the desk at night, there was no one to monitor or complain to.

United KingdomWith it being a very old building, the walls are very thin - I could hear the next room using their toilet and their conversations, which wasn't great especially when they would return to their room late.
The location was perfect, very central for exploring. The building itself is very charming, nicely decorated and had a lovely feel about it. I had a single room, which was very spacious with a lovely view. The staff were welcoming and friendly.

United StatesDespite mentioning that I would be arriving on an early morning flight, I couldn't check-in early. Also, the bed is not ideal for someone that is tall, big, or both. It was fine for an overnight stay for a person, but for an extended stay, a solo traveler may want to consider a bigger bed.
The staff was kind and courteous. The room was fine for a solo traveler. The bathroom was good and the room had a good setup to work on my computer at the desk as well. I also loved the location. It was a short walk to some of the sites I in Rome that I wanted to visit.

FinlandThe room was on the ground floor and was dark and musty. Only a small shutter to the backyard. Maybe we were unlucky. According to the pictures, the hotel has bright rooms and even a terrace.
Perfect location. There were no stairs because the room was on the bottom floor.

TurkeySound insulation between rooms is terrible, so be prepared the hear and experience each word, each sentence and various actions of neighboring rooms. It was like there are no walls at all. The construction works on the street begins too early (this may be something specific to Rome)
The hotel is located at a very central location in Rome. You can walk all around the city and the see the famous locations within minutes. Lots of dining and drinking locations in the nearby streets, very enjoyable.

United KingdomThe hotel doesn’t appear to have a lift. Our room was just off the main floor so not a problem for us, but maybe difficult for others. Our room had dust on some surfaces and cobwebs in-between the wooden beams that overhang the room which need cleaning. We had a wall safe that had no power, so it did not work. At times there was noise from guests in the room above us dragging furniture across the floor, which could be prevented from a floor matt or felt stickers placed underneath the furniture legs to reduce the noise. These are minor issues though and would not prevent us from returning to this hotel again, we had a great time. Thank you
Excellent location and in walking distance to all the main attractions. This hotel had a lovely feel and character and very friendly, knowledgeable staff. Plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants to enjoy nearby. About 15 minutes walk to an airport Shuttle bus service stop, which has regular buses to the airport, approx 5-6 euros each way, per person. Would return to this hotel and location again.

GermanyNo problem for me personally, but keep in mind that there's no elevator and the staircase is quite the climb. The (Single) room was a bit dark, but the balcony made up for that.

United StatesThey first put me in a room on the first floor which wasn’t clean. It was dusty. When laying down in bed, we looked up at the ceiling and there was black mold all over the ceiling. The bathroom smelled like sewage. The window was tiny. It was the first time I felt like I couldn’t relax in a hotel room. I let the front staff know and they were able to change my room to the upper floor which was MUCH better. I do appreciate the staff being helpful with that. But I don’t think anyone should stay on that first floor. The breakfast was good but I do wish they had more breakfast selection.
The location was walking distance to all the main sites and restaurants which was the main reason why I chose this hotel. The staff was very helpful when I needed help.

TurkeyRoom is not small. In fact it is big enough and there ara plenty of room in the bathroom but the shower cabin is the smallest cabin I have ever seen. There is no elevator. Some people drag their luggage through the stairs and make noise in the morning. Lastly, there is no flipflops.
The environment is historical and quiet, the main gate of the hotel has a password and this is better than having a key. Room is clean. Bed is comfy.

MaltaThe only caveat was that there was no lift and we had to go up a lot of stairs to our room. However, we read the reviews before booking and we were well aware that this could be a possibility.
The location could not have been better for this hotel, being a couple of minutes from Piazza Navona and only a comfortable walk away from the city's major monuments. We did not have breakfast at the hotel but there are some fantastic breakfast places only minutes away from the hotel as well. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The staff were accommodating even with our very late check-in.
