Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

PortugalIf we didn’t get an upgrade, we’d probably get the smallest room available to booking. There’s a girl on reception, mostly at night that wasn’t quite friendly and not very professional in my opinion.
It was quite near to the Terminus train station. Lots of restaurants nearby. Close to Via Nazionale a good way to move around Rome.

CanadaThe room was quite small. Be sure to bring your own hair conditioner - European hotels seem not to provide with toiletries. The hotel is removed from most of the tourist attractions - there is good subway access more or less.
Friendly, helpful staff. The breakfast was outstanding. It is close to the train station.

Amazing breakfast, very diverse and fresh food. There is everything from eggs, cheese, hams, to cakes, croissants and fruits. Very close to the train station but still quiet. The bed was comfortable and had a massage feature which was nice.

The location is optimal if you arrive from Termini (10 min walk) and for sightseeing too (30 min walk to the Trevi fountain). Metro line is just nearby. I can agree with all the positive reviews. Just before this stay - for business reasons- I was accommodated in a much more expensive hotel very close to Lucilla but I find this one better to be honest. The room size was bigger than I expected (booked a 13 m2 room). Spacious enough. Breakfast is superb.

The rooms look better than what are in the pictures. I was surprised at the rooms. The bed was very comfortable and I could also easy adjust if needed. I liked the breakfast as well. The location is very close to the train station.

BelgiumThe aircon worked ok but needed to be left running at all times (admittedly in a top floor room in mid August). Not the largest room or bathroom. The lift could be a little overworked at peak times. A pity that the gym in a sister hotel is not free for guests.
Second stay here, still good. Room ok for one. Bed ok, bathroom ok. Good location near the station. Reasonable value for Rome.
