As I mentioned above, building and rooms are quite very simple, rooms have the least and the minimum requirements,

Location is 10 to 15 minutes max walking towards the center, and it also takes 15 to 20 minutes walking from/ to the train station. Rooms and the building are basic requirements, nothing special about it, get what you pay, although I felt the price is A BIT pricey for such facilities, but for something easy, good location, it's worth it. There are a few supermarkets, shops, and restaurants, and a bus stop right in front of it.

The real problem was an internet connection or actually its lack.

For the price, the only thing that I would have any issue with is the WiFi (though I was fully prepared for this based on other reviews). This seems to depend on how many people are using it : sometimes it's possible to do basic browsing but often only useful for e-mails. Just making this even a little bit faster would be a big plus. But then, I wasn't there to browse the internet.

Outstanding location for the price ! Close to the train station and city centre (within easy walking distance of both) with a small supermarket across the street. Marco is a really nice guy and I very much appreciated the honesty in not trying to embellish anything. This is a VERY basic no-frills place and doesn't pretend to be anything else. But it's comfortable and clean, my room was pleasantly cool and had a fridge, a TV, a desk and wardrobe. There were locks for the building, flat and the room itself, and a small but quite pleasant shared balcony area. As somewhere for a few days to explore Bologna and the surrounding area, I would highly recommend this for budget travellers.

Walking at night seemed a little bit uncomfortable in the area. Apart from that it’s quite close to the Main Street.

Beautiful room, very clean and nicely decorated. The shared terrace was also very comfortable. Riva Reno Guest House has the exact kind of charm and personal attention to detail that I expect when visiting Italy. The place is very authentic and romantic, perfect for couples. The location is amazing, close to supermarkets, pharmacies, tobacco shops, and restaurants, 10-minute walking distance from all the central piazzas and important places in Bologna. The host was very friendly and gives an early check-in when possible, he also speaks several foreign languages.

But i thought there should have been a rubber/plastic mat in the shower stall as not to slip and fall and also to build some raised rim or curb so the water does not spill into the rest of the bathroom.

The most convenient is the location so close to the historical centre. The bed was very comfortable. The GuestHouse was very clean and quiet. On my next trip to Bologna i will definitely consider booking a room with you again.

The apartment was okay but not maintained well, for example, the toilet seat was broken. In addition, it was difficult to find the office (it is an apartment building, with an office underneath), and although I came during the check-in times, no one was there. I had to call the person in charge (I didn't have a local phone - had to ask for help from a person on the street), and then needed to wait outside for 20 minutes till he came.

The hardest bed I ever slept in:( And the second night a guy next door kept screaming and shouting and acting crazy late at night...

At first we couldn´t find the place because there were no sign with the name, but after a phonecall a very helpful man came and checked us in. Really liked living with locals and not in the exact middle but perfect walkingdistance to shopping and things to do and see. Very nice cleaning!
