Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The staff was outstanding at Hotel La Terra, who made our stay very comfortable. The room was large and we appreciated having a refrigerator in the room. The location was also very convenient.

United KingdomEverything was fine. However as the hotel is in the very old part of the city (with very narrow streets), you cannot park your car outside the hotel. One option is to park your car in a paid carpark.
There was a lot of choice at the breakfast with very nice authentic Italian food. The room was beautiful with a large and modern bathroom. The building itself is historic and located in the very old part of the city close to the sights, various good restaurants and the main square. If your room is on the top floor, you have a nice view over the city.

United StatesWe stayed here about 6 years ago and loved it then and loved it this time as well. This is a small, charming hotel right in the old city. Lovely rooms. There are several common rooms on the 3rd floor and a nice small terrace. The breakfast is served in an adjacent building and is wonderful with a range of cheeses, meats, pastries, an egg dish and eggs cooked to order if you ask. The staff are all exceptional. Parking is in a lot just outside the old city and is very reasonable at $7E per day. The hotel staff come down and pick you up. But you must contact the hotel in advance to get directions to the parking lot and then to get picked up. Do not drive into the old city. Ostuni is a wonderful small town, a bit touristy, but still worth a visit. Good restaurants in town, the hotel will book you a reservation if you ask. Totally recommend.

United StatesA truly excellent experience. The staff was wonderful - very professional and very helpful. The hotel is on a very quiet street but very close to the piazza, the main sites and many great restaurants. Our room was lovely and very quiet and we enjoyed the terraces. Breakfast was excellent. We had a very good stay and will surely come back. Many thanks to everyone at the hotel.

SwitzerlandA 4 stars hotel should offer more healthy and fresh products at the breakfast. Small things like a full length mirror in the room or more amenities products (only basic soap and shampoo were offered) were lacking.

FranceThe hotel is a lovely restored building, with interesting details and views. The room was spacious, clean, and well air-conditioned (it was very hot out). The staff helped me with my car parking (you can't park in the old town) - took me to a cheap private lot and drove me back there in the morning. They were all very nice.

United StatesThe hotel is built into a hillside and is terraced, meaning there are lots of stairs. While there is an elevator to reach the main three floors above the ground floor, many rooms are on levels in-between. This makes for a unique experience with the spaces, but know that there are few large expanses on a single level, even in some of the guest rooms.
The breakfast was terrific. Homemade pastries, focaccia or quiche, accompanied by fresh fruits, yogurt, cereal and nuts, rounded out by fresh juices, coffees and teas. There were even cured meats and cheeses. It provided an awesome way to start each day. The guest rooms have high quality linens and finishes. Due to a snafu on our part, we enjoyed two different rooms, each completely different from each other, and designed around different architectural conditions presented by the 600 year-old buildings. This is a one-of-a-kind property - do not miss the common terrace on the 3rd floor! Getting to the hillside hotel behind the City walls is a challenge for the first-timer; it’s a fun adventure, but best if you’re prepared for it. You need to park at the bottom of the big hill, walk up the hotel to check in, then staff will drive you back to your car to load your luggage into their narrow-street-friendly vehicle and lead you to the 7-euro/day parking lot. The last step is pile into their vehicle for the ride back up the hill to the hotel. DO NOT attempt to negotiate the narrow and often one-way streets in your own vehicle. The historic core is perfectly walkable and the hotel is right in the middle of the action. Leave the driving to the locals.

The hotel's location is very good in the middle of the old city , within waking distance to points of interest and restaurants. It is tastefully decorated. Great breakfast. United KingdomMy partner and I were very disappointed by our stay. Everything was fine until our check out. We were told to safely leave our luggages in the reception where they were supposedly watched. The luggage were left in the reception hall without sufficient security. We went for a walk in Ostuni and came back around 1pm to take our luggages and be driven to our car. Later on, we noticed that we got robbed. We had two laptops stolen from us. Despite explaining the situation to the Hotel manager and being told that they didn't see anything on the camera, there is no other place or way we would have had our two laptops stolen. We consider the Hotel response to this situation very poor and untrustworthy.
