Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandWIFI is an entire disaster, I was unable to open or watch anything online with this very slow connection. The game room has only very basic equipment but can be a bit better if getting a set of rackets costs 10€ so can enjoy the game.
The swimming pool was perfect, the kitchen was nice but missing some equipment that would be nice to have.

MaltaThe only two very minor things i didnt like were the kettle-needs to be changed. It doesnt have an off switch; it's very small and it trips the electricity of the entire villette when used with other appliances. The bed corner sticks out quite a bit and we bumped our knees quite badly a few times since the rooms are not large. But the beds are very comfortable and a very decent size.
The property was the perfect size for our 2 small families (x2 couples + 3kids under 5yrs). We simply loved the garden surrounding the property and the terrace in front of the living area. The fact that it was at ground floor level was very convenient for us with young kids. It's super safe and properly gated. Car access is perfect and incredibly convenient. Pool area is gorgeous! Everything was SO CLEAN!! very well kept. Hosts were incredibly helpful and nice. Property is just up the road from the towns centre and beach. Can't recommend enough 👌👌💯

France- Major hot water \ water pressure issues - the entire apartment (it would seem it is the same for all of their apartments) is dependent on a tiny water heater with the capacity of a cooking pot. We had to wait about 30 min between showers for the water to re-heat, which is ridiculous. At one point the water heater just broke and as it could not have been fixed we were given a key to go shower in another apartment (which had the same tiny water heater). - The sea is close but the nice beaches \ restaurants are not a walking distance away, so most of the time to do anything else than going to the pool (when not to cold) or walking to the village grocery store - everything requires a car. - The pool was open but it is not heated or covered so it was not usable most of the time (we where there in mid May and it was to cold). - The place is clean, and pretty new, but very very basic. everything (furniture, appliances, etc) is cheep quality, and the kitchen is poorly equipped. (not even a proper knife for cooking). - All of the staff speaks only Italian so all communication is with google translate [we are fluent in several languages, so it's not only about english hehe] . (but they are nice and make an effort) - They asked us to fill in extra registration details even though we already paid on booking when doing the check-in (such as our fiscal number for example, which we refused to give), as it seemed quite strange and intrusive. - The place is adjacent to a pretty active road (main road leading to the nearby village), so the peace and quite is interrupted quite often by passing cars.
- An employee greeted us on arrival and gave us an explanation. She was very nice. (even though she spoke only Italian and communication was complicated) - Bed was alright (especially compared to other similarly priced bnbs). - There was kind of a see view from the side of the balcony, but not at all as described in the website or on the photos. - The village near by was very useful and was accessible by car or on foot (10-15 min walk) - The village, donnalucata, is very authentic (aka super simple, not so tourist oriented) and has several coffees, 3 grocery stores, and a bakery the makes local pastries. (and an arancini shop of-course). - The area in general was very quiet and peaceful, slightly off the beaten path (especially at off\half-season)

United KingdomAppartment Location next to a busy and noisy main road that was like a rubbish tip. The pool whilst immaculate lacked character, more like a public swimming pool than a holiday appartment pool and the road noise didnt make for a relaxing environment. The balcony whilst spacious had no proper privacy from the next appartment. Just a slatted wood fence. For the last few days of our holiday we had a large noisy family next to us that showed no respect to us as neighbours. This meant we were unable to use our balcony Cleaning service was offered at an extra price which we declined however no cleans bedding or towels were received during our stay
Communication was very good across the board. We were met by Maria Rosa who was lovely and very helpful even though we had language issues. Facilities were generally ok but lacking in some areas ie no kettle and just a tiny one shot espresso maker

EstoniaUnfortunately, there was a problem with the pipes in our apartment, which was not fixed during our stay, even though we went to talk several times! We had no sleep for 3 days and our vacation was ruined because of this. A swimming pool in the garden which is too small for such a number of visitors. The internet connection has not been fixed either, although several visitors have written about it in previous years!
The apartment was spacious and clean. A nice little garden and a big balcony where it was nice to sit in the evening. The kitchen had all the necessary supplies for cooking.

MaltaA request on the day of arrival to have a ventilator (fan) didn't materialise. The apartment doesn't have adequate electrical supply. We couldn't use the oven and washing machine at the same time, or the oven and the only AC unit in the apartment. The electricity tripped several times, with the discomfort of going down/up two floors to reset the main electrical switchboard. The entire pool is very shallow. I am not sure if this detail was listed in the description. If I had noticed it before, we wouldn't have opted for this accommodation.
The apartment was very clean on arrival, and the information given was useful. The top apartment enjoys views from a massive terrace, where we took daily breakfasts and dinners.
