Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesDaniela and her staff were charming, attentive, and offered great ideas for exploring Florence. The location was safe and allowed us to walk everywhere to museums, to concerts, to churches, and just to wander the six different districts. The room was spacious and the couches and tables and chairs allowed us to spread out to read or plan our day. We loved the fresco on the ceiling and the tile in the bathroom and all the common rooms! The breakfasts were amazing, with fresh fruits and a variety of sweet and savory dishes.

United StatesThere is nothing. This is truly a magical place.
I have not in my life ever experienced any stay more wonderful. Daniella and her team are truly the heart of Florence. Their warmth and assistance was the talk of our trip. And do yourself a favor, make sure to stay for breakfast. We actually moved our train on our last day to stay just a little longer. We will be back!

BulgariaNothing.
We liked everything- the atmosphere of the an old palazzo, the top location, the extremely nice and friendly staff and the owner Daniela, of course, which is the perfect host. The breakfast was remarkable, not only as typical Florentine food, but the room with fine decorations, burning candles and classical music was a very classy experience. Daniela and the staff were always ready with good advices, especially for the best restaurants. Thank you, Daniela. We recommend your place to everyone who wants to visit Florence.

United KingdomThe fact that we were only in Florence for 1 day otherwise we would have stayed here for much longer!
We absolutely loved our stay. The hotel is historically set in an old palace and is in a perfect central location to explore Florence. Daniella and Riccardo go above and beyond to ensure you are looked after and they also just great people to have a chat with. The rooms are amazing and so spacious and the breakfast upstairs is delish. When we are next back in Florence we know where we will be staying :). Also we had a car and parked initially out the front of the hotel. Daniella then organized for the car to be picked up and taken to a garage so all very easy to organise.

United StatesDaniela and her team were the highlight of our trip to Florence! We started missing her as soon as we walked out the door. I can’t say enough good things about this place. The building alone is incredible. You’ll feel like royalty staying there and it has a great history too. The breakfast is not to be missed! We paid to change our train tickets to a later time just so we could have breakfast one more time before we left. The wine tasting is also a must! We’ll be making plans to come back as soon as we can and we’ll be staying longer next time. Thank you all again for having us! Come visit us in Florida any time!

United StatesAbsolutely nothing.
I can't begin to explain what an incredible stay we had at the Palazzo. To begin with, Daniela and the entire staff were so helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was a multi course affair served with absolute pride and passion. We were given the best advice for restaurants and last minute reservations were made for us as well. Daniela is such a wonderful and charismatic host, taking time to explain the history of the palazzo, give us facts and history of Florence, and truly sharing her passion for her labor of love. The location was perfect. Not far from either the train station nor any of the cities attractions. We thank all of the people at the palazzo who made our stay so incredibly memorable.

United StatesThere wasn't anything we didn't like about our stay but I would like to clarify for any future guests...if you are driving there, they have an awesome valet system and you just drive down the road right to the front of the hotel and park anywhere you can by the curb. (watch closely to the numbers on the sides of the doors and you'll see #19 on your left) There is a sign on the door that says to call when you arrive but we had trouble getting a connection on our cell phones (using Verizon's international travel pass). I had rang the doorbell hoping someone would come to open the door and let me in, but I got lucky that another guest showed up with a key and was able to walk in with him. Anyway, maybe it was just our phones but after you get inside and are greeted, someone then comes to pick up your car and will park it for you for 30 euro a day (it was worth every cent)! Just don't be confused like we were initially, as the road is narrow and a lot of people will be walking in the street, and we were afraid to drive down at first, thinking it wasn't accessible, but yes, just go! We didn't need our car ever again until we checked out, so just make sure to take everything out of the car.
The 2 nights we spent at Palazzo Tolomei was one of the highlights of our two week stay in Italy! First let me start by saying that the location is great! In the heart of the city and close enough to walk everywhere you want to go. Upon our arrival, we were immediately taken by the beauty and ambience of this large historic home. We were greeted by the most hospitable staff (hi Ricardo & Irena 🙂) who explained everything we needed to know during our stay and then showed us to our room. Our room was huge, beautiful comfortable, and simply perfect. We sincerely loved the feeling that we were immersed in the history of this home. If you're looking for a modern, commercialized place to stay while in Florence, then this is not the place for you. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was gorgeous, the shower may have been small, but it worked just fine and the water was hot! Ricardo made sure to tell us that the items in the mini frig were all complimentary including the Prosecco, which we quickly popped open and enjoyed in the lovely wine glasses that were also in the room! Our room was Barocco 1, and although we didn't see any other room, we would highly recommend it! Another real treat was getting to meet and talk to the most lovely owner, Daniela, who makes herself present every afternoon, to interact with her guests and every morning for breakfast! Which brings me to the subject of breakfast!!!! If you haven't already figured it out, breakfast was amazing! Abundant and delightful and served in the most beautiful dining room!! Traditional Italian breakfast fare from - fresh fruit salad to croissants (cornetti), meats, cheeses, truffle honey, eggs, dipping sauces, breads, coffees, juices and I'm sure I'm forgetting something! During the entire breakfast Daniela was talking to and enjoying each and every one of her guests, and we just loved her! Needless to say, we would most definitely stay here again and again!
