Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

CanadaThe room was small but at least it had a large bed. There were only cable channels in Italian, not much in English and no streaming services. The wifi was not strong enough to stream Netflix on my laptop.
The location was good if you want to be close to the Colosseum (we walked there). There are a several streets with shops and restaurants within walking distance. The restaurant food was very good. The hotel breakfast was nice, with a nice rooftop location (it was not free, but well priced). The bed was comfortable even though you would not think so looking at it, and there was a safe. The staff was very friendly and always helpful.

Our stay was nothing short of fantastic! The location was amazing, offering easy access to iconic landmarks like the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain, both just a 10-minute stroll away. The spacious room provided comfort, making it the ideal base for exploring the wonders of Rome. Highly recommended!

United StatesThere are two Monti’s in the same building on different floors that have no a/c and we felt like we were sent in a wild goose chase covered in sweat bc for a solid 15 mins no one knew where we were supposed to be. Also, the door knob was coming off so it made it difficult to open the door.
I liked how cold the room got. It was very clean in there.

United KingdomThe kitchenette was missing some basic items to make it usable, for example, there was no dishcloth or dish soap. We asked for our room not to be cleaned, but when we returned our towels had been swapped and (strangely) a new painting placed in our room. Not the worst thing to happen - just a little odd!
The room and bathroom felt very modern and clean and was a great size. Staff were fantastic and really helpful. Location was perfect - only 10mins walk from the Colosseum on one side and the Trevi fountain and old town on the other side. The hotel offered free experiences such as walking tours and sunset drinks.

The location of the hotel was great. We went with a baby and a stroller and we managed to do most of things by walking. The girls at the reception were nice and they hotel offers some tours for free. Unfortunately being with the baby it was complicated to join them.
