Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe noise at night from the pub next door was a little loud, but it was a Friday night in Italy! The next night we didn’t notice it. Pack a set of foam earplugs, or go join in the fun.
The apartment was a short walk to the Pompeii archaeological park, restaurants and an easy 8 minute walk to the train station. It’s very spacious, clean and has everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. It would be perfect for a family stay/vacation. The hosts provided snacks, drinks and a big candy bowl!! It is the most spacious apartment that we have stayed in Italy. Our hosts were very helpful and attentive to our needs. They went out of their way to make sure that our stay was perfect. They met us and gave us a tour and also came with a parting gift the day we left.

Loved everything at this property and would highly recommend! Would happily stay again :) Excellent communication with Francesco before arriving at the property. Him and his nephew Daniele met us and showed us all the features of the property. They were very friendly and easy to talk to. You won’t get bored at the apartment! Ping-pong, PS4, board games, card games and more! The rooms were all very clean, air conditioning in the dining room and the bedroom, comfortable beds and a good sized bathroom. There were plenty of amenities too that we were invited to use. It’s the perfect location. The property is maybe a 5 minute walk to the entrance of Pompeii, a 10 minute walk from the train station and there are many restaurants and bars close by. The hosts were more than happy to give recommendations for the local area as well as Naples after we checked out. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

United KingdomNothing, it was perfect.
We stayed in Miriam’s house for four nights in June 2024. Miriam’s house is in a brilliant location, approximately 10 minutes walk from Pompeii Central Train Station and about 5 minutes walk to the Piazza Anfiteatro entrance to the archaeological site. There are many bars and restaurants virtually on the door step. The supermarket is a bit further, do not believe Google The house is very clean and well equipped with high quality items. There is a pleasant sunny patio. There is a good washing machine and an area for drying clothes. It took us a bit of searching to find the iron and the ironing board however the owner is prompt at answering queries. My opinion of the house is; if this was mine, it is far too nice and I would be reluctant to rent it to the general public. It is one of the best holiday rentals we have stayed in.

United StatesWe have no complaints, everything was wonderful.
Everything was fantastic, appliances and furnishings are all updated and well maintained. The blow dryer in the bathroom is even high quality, which is rare for most rental homes. The location is optimal, the photos match the quality of the apartment, and everything was very comfortable.

United StatesIn the evening there is noise from the bar next door but the white noise app covered it up and we slept very well. Google Maps had us walk from the train station to the property on a route that included a lot of steps but more direct. I found later that had we gone straight up the street instead of turning left, the route was flatter and easier with heavy baggage.
Francesco contacted me through WhatsApp and met us at the property to give us the gives and a tour of the place. The two large rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. The garden area was peaceful during the day and has sun and covered area. He and his nephew, who translated for us, came to check us out. They arrived a few minutes early showing respect for our need to leave for the walk to the train station. It is less than a minute’s walk to the information agency with tour tickets and restaurants and just 200 m from the entrance to the ruins. Francesco sent me a daily message wishing us a good day. He is a very kind and generous man letting us check in early.

IrelandAbsolutely nothing. A tiny bit of flexibility around check out time would have been super but I get they spend so much time cleaning and preparing the property that they need to get stuck in and I guess it’s only possible if they don’t have guests arriving the very next night.
Everything! It’s rare I’d use the word exceptional in a review but honestly this place merits it! From the help and communication with Francesco even before we arrived and all throughout our stay (more related to Pompei as everything to do with our stay was perfect!) to presenting a beautiful property, exceptionally clean with every little detail thought of. A fridge full of complimentary drinks & savoury snacks and sweets in the kitchen. KWe met his lovely mom who is responsible for the place being pristine & his nephew who was helpful and a lovely young man. It’s a family affair and they take pride in their property and it shows in every way 😊 The location is fab, it’s only a 3-4min stroll from the entrance to the ruins but yet very private and quiet. Lovely restaurant ‘Le Delezie’, ice cream parlour and shops just around the corner. Note there are 2 train stations (2kms apart) in Pompei it arriving by train. Miriam’s house very near the main ‘Pompei’ station. We only stayed one night as we were travelling down the Amalfi coast but in hindsight, we would have happily stayed in Pompei for the week and travelled by train to the places we wanted to go. Also, one thing that might be helpful to know is there is free luggage storage at the ruins for anyone who needs it 😉 Forgot to say kids loved the fussball table, PlayStation, garden hose! and basketball. For families there is one double bed and two single in the main bedroom (with extra bedding available) and a double sofa bed in the living room.

United KingdomNothing. This was the best and most personal and helpful check-in I've ever had from an apartment host, and the apartment itself and its location, could not have been better.
The hosts met us at the property and gave us a tour of the facilities, some suggestions as to where was best to eat and to visit. They could not have been more accommodating. The property itself was spacious and bright, with great air conditioning, comfy beds, breakfast cakes and coffee, and soft drinks all laid on. There was a pleasant garden space with its own separate, stocked kitchen as well as that within the main house. The shower room was clean and modern, reflecting the decor throughout. The entire apartment was equivalent to a 5 star hotel, but with all the additional benefits of a self contained apartment and separate living space. In terms of location, it was perfect. It's situated immediately between the modern city of Pompeii, and the ancient excavations of the Roman city, both of which are within 5 minutes walk, There's a cool bar on one side, and a higher-end restaurant on the other. It's near the two stations in Pompeii, which gave us easy access for day trips to Naples, Herculaneum, Paestum, and to the beaches at Agropoli. In sum, this was the perfect location for a wonderful apartment, with a most generous and considerate host. Faultless.

IrelandThe apartment is central with easy access to the ruins of Pompeii, and also to the train stations. You are spoiled for choice for cafe's and restaurants in this location. The host is extremely kind and friendly, he even brought us for coffee and pastries on our first day and texted us frequently during the week to check if everything was going well. The apartment caters for your every need in a practical way, and is spacious, beautiful and comfortable. I would recommend this apartment highly, you will enjoy your stay. We already looking forward to going back.

United KingdomThe accommodation was next door to a pub with outdoor space and it was quite noisy in the evening - maybe an issue if you have young children / light sleepers (didn’t bother us).
Really excellent stay - location was ideal and it suited us with teenagers perfectly. Hosts were fabulous, meeting us and dropping us back to the station and were available on text for any problems. Kitchen was properly equipped to cook full meals if desired but within waking distance of plenty of restaurants and an amazing ice cream/bakery a few metres away. Very close to one of the entrances to ruins (less than 5 mins walk)

United StatesAbsolutely nothing, it truly is perfect!!!
Miriam’s House is the most perfect flat I could ever imagine booking for our time in Pompeii! At the last minute, our itinerary changed, and by great fortune, Miriam’s House was available. And wow, it truly is a luxury accommodation! From the moment I booked, Francesco and Daniele were the most superb hosts I’ve ever encountered in my travels. They greeted us at the house, and we couldn’t believe that it could be more beautiful and well appointed than even the pictures and listing’s description. Every single detail of Miriam’s House is pristine, well thought out, and just beautiful. Olga, Francesco’s mother and Daniele’s grandmother, had baked cookies and candies that were awaiting us, as well as cold water and limoncello in the refrigerator. Every single item inside the home is brand new, top of the line, and coordinating. And, every single item outside in the private courtyard impressed us too - a foosball table, ping pong table, basketball goal, outdoor seating, and also an outdoor television. The beds and bedding were so comfortable, and we slept so well. The location could absolutely not be more perfect for touring the archaeological Pompeii site, or the town of Pompeii. One of the main entrances to Pompeii is literally around the corner from the flat, as are endless amazing restaurants, cafes, shopping, and the town square and Cathedral. As women travelers, we could not have felt more safe, both in location and the safety and design of Miriam’s House. Now, to express our gratitude for Francesco’s and Daniele’s most phenomenal Napoli kindnesses. After check-in, they took us for a proper Italian espresso and pastry at the most beautiful pasticceria, and made excellent recommendations for lunch and dinner. We were worried about our taxi needs to the Napoli airport, as we needed to leave at a really early morning hour. They made sure our ride to the airport was on time. I can’t express what a relief this was too.

AustraliaPersonal taste- I didn’t like the profusion of garden gnomes and artificial flowers everywhere. There is only one bedroom. The single beds are in the master room and are quite small. It would be absolutely perfect for parents with two small children.
It is so close to everything. Walking a few steps to great pastry shop, restaurants, and most importantly, to the incredible Pompeii ancient city. There is a large back terrace with access to a ping pong table, foosball and there’s a big TV out there. Computer games too. Francesco the host is super friendly and on the ball, ready to help with everything and keen to share your experience. He kept in frequent contact with us and even insisted on taking us out to enjoy delicious pastry on arrival. If you want a great host in call, he is there for you!
