Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

VietnamIt was confusing when we first arrive and it took us a long time to find and get in the house. The surrounding area is a bit smelly due to rubbish from nearby restaurants. The walking area outside the facility was narrow and made of stones so it's a little inconvenient when travelling with heavy suitcases.
The room was very clean, beautiful, and they prepared a lot of snacks in the room.

United KingdomLovely place to stay in Milan. Located in the Chinatown section. Host very responsive to my questions around accessing the location. Nice and clean place with ample facilities which met our needs. The place was quiet on the night-time despite being in the centre of Chinatown and quite noisy outside.

Location was nice, lots of ambience, not too far from the centre, the decorations were nice in Mama house. We didn’t have breakfast included but the host still provided us with some breakfast snacks, coffee and tea. Communication was good and fast! All in all, a wonderful experience!

Czech RepublicThe online check-in form was a bit of a hassle. The management tried to contact us via WhatsApp (without agreeing to it first) and was surprised we don't use it, in general the communication was a bit confusing. The breakfast was just symbolic (instant coffee, crackers & jam). Our room had a window into the street (at street level) so late night street noise is unavoidable.
The room was nice and clean, everything was prepared and ready.

PolandUnfortunately, there are a few things to pay attention to. 1. The place is not safe enough to leave personal items there. People from outside have access to the tenement house and the apartment is located on the ground floor. The door to the apartment is very weak and the lock is easy to force. There were already signs of a previous break-in. 2. No daylight reaches the room - the shutters are permanently closed, which means that you are in a room without windows. This is very uncomfortable. 3. The bathroom was very poorly cleaned - the shower was not cleaned. The sink was completely clogged - it quickly filled with water - so brushing my teeth was a challenge. 4. There is a sofa in the photos in the common area. The couch doesn't actually exist and the room is just a bed. This was misleading. 5. I think it is rude to ask you to leave your room in the morning on the last day when check-out is at 11am.
The location of the place is rather a plus because it is close to districts such as Brera and Arc de Triomphe. The La Scala theater is also relatively close.

EstoniaA very bad experience. The host promised a later check-in, but two days before our arrival, we found out that we had to pay an additional 30€ for her/him to remotely press a button to open the front door, plus a 9€ city tax that was not mentioned anywhere in the booking. We arrived at the door at 00:12 and tried to contact the owner via WhatsApp, Booking, and by calling multiple times, but got no response. We had been up for 24 hours by then because we had a long journey. We had to stand on the street with our large bags. As a side note, the street noise is very audible inside the apartment. Finally, over an hour later, at around 01:20, the host responded and let us in. By that time, we were extremely tired and hungry, and it felt like our trip was ruined because we wanted to wake up early. Inside, we discovered that the kitchen, living room, and balcony were shared with another room. Fortunately, there were no other guests at the same time, but it was still disturbing because this information was not mentioned anywhere. The apartment cleaner came early in the morning, making noise in the kitchen and talking loudly on the phone, which we could hear in our room. The only good thing about the apartment was that it was clean. We have never had such an unpleasant experience. The host was also rude when I mentioned that there was no information on Booking about the extra fee for late check-in. For that money, we could have stayed in a hotel. In conclusion, we do not recommend this place at all!
It was clean.

United KingdomHygiene needs improving : hair on provided towels and pillows and sheets, no cover on quilt provided Floor was dirty with hair and dirt staining my socks when walking. Shutters are permanently closed making the room dark all day and night The room was on the ground floor on a road with very noisy traffic, I could not sleep properly. Poor checking in experience, on arrival . There was no sign for the property on the intercom for the building with multiple apartments/floors. no body was answering for ages and when answered was very slow to respond and take action. The communal area was cluttered with bags, etc

Poland-
The best apartment for rent I've been to, especially in Italy. I often travel around different countries and in Italy I have always encountered poor quality of rented rooms despite a few stars. This apartment was much better than the 4 star rentals. It was a total positive surprise for me. Standard of rooms, quality, service and facilities. Pictures do not lie, it is really so nice and aesthetic. it looks like new and definitely renovated. Nice spacious shower and heated bathroom. The room has air conditioning that heats and cools so I did not freeze in those very cold days in Milan. In addition, there is a kitchen fridge and microwave for use and there are snacks and coffee and milk in the poloju which is very nice. In addition, the cleaning service and replaces towels, which I have encountered for the first time in apartments that are not a hotel, but an apartment. I will recommend!
