One bedroom is the actual living room. The second bedroom is located behind it. If you wanted to go to the toilet at night, you had to go through the other bedroom. There is no direct access to the bathroom. In the middle of the night the waste disposal services of the city come around, which was extremely loud

We enjoyed every aspect of this apartment - and that’s saying something because I’m a fusspot and expect value for money. The location on Ortigia Island is incomparable, with great views of the Baroque buildings across the street. We stayed in Apartment 6 and it had a door to the front balcony and two large double windows along the side. Lots of light and fresh air. There were a few pieces of attractive antique furniture to contrast with the overall ultra modern theme of the apartment. The apartment was tastefully decorated, with a separate bedroom. The main kitchen/lounge area had lovely Italian glass vases and bowls, plus a gleaming set of cutlery and quality wine glasses and dinner set. There is a high quality Co-op brand Mini market just a few shops along on your right as you leave the apartment building. Excellent range of Sicilian cheeses and wine, and some hot takeaway items. When you leave that shop, turn right and go down the small street on the right. Two or three shops on your right you’ll find a fabulous shop with home made parmigiana, various vegetables, and meat dishes. Plus desserts like cannoli. Between the two shops you can easily make up a wonderful dinner. I would stay again in a heartbeat.

Be aware that the place has a sofa bed but they want to charge an extra €20 per night to use it - this seems cheeky to us considering the price of the place we paid already for just 4 people. Some people like firm beds but for us they were not very comfortable. For 2 nights though it's not a problem. Even with windows and shutters closed you can clearly hear street noise - it wasn't too bad, but just in case you're a light sleeper it's good to know.

This is a very special place, the rooms are so beautiful. High ceilings and the place is full of light. The location is amazing (just comes with a little noise, which is to be expected). Hosts are good at communicating with you ahead of and during your stay - they kindly made a call to arrange our parking space for us whilst we were en route. The place was very clean (the only issue was having to clean the wine glasses before use) which is impressive considering the age of the building. Sitting on the balconies with your morning coffee or your evening glass of wine was very special! Great base to explore Ortigia from - go to Evoe below the apartment, it's lovely!

Seemingly very short supply of hot water. Also every time the water is turned on the water pump was very loud, which could be problematic if you have a light sleeping partner or baby at night. No microwave. FYI, two story walk-up without elevator--not a problem for us but could be an issue for anyone with mobility challenges. Some street noise, but worth it with the gorgeous old windows/doors.

Beautifully appointed apartment with huge windows and excellent view of gorgeous surrounding buildings, well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and couch, big shower, washer on-site. Baby crib requested and provided. Good communication with host, and easy to access the apartment with the provided information. Cute little terrace and right across from a little cafe/bar.

App no.5: Bad identification - entrance to appartments (I mean the gate groundfloor) Noise from the street (garbage trucks - glass, vehicles), The soundproofing of the windows is not tight. The back bedroom shares the same ceiling with the bathroom, which is integrated into the room, and the false ceiling in the middle of the room is acoustically and odorously leaky. Every flush and boiler operation can be heard. Efforts should be made to improve the sound insulation of the windows and the bathroom. There is no microwave in the kitchen, although it was not listed in the amenities."

The apartment's location is right in the heart of Syracuse. Enjoy a view of the church from the window. A courtyard is available. Close proximity to a restaurant with excellent cuisine, especially pasta.

Host was amazing, very responsive and the check-in was seamless and easy. The apartment is very big, and on a quiet street, adjacent to the major thoroughfare in Ortigia. We enjoyed it so much, we didn't want to leave. Thanks for being great hosts, and very flexible with our requests for a crib!

I would have loved a small washing machine.

The location was ideal, 5 minute walk to centre, a marvellous bar downstairs & easy access to all highlights of Ortigia. The building,17Cent, was amazing along with the divine decor of the apartment. It was elegant and comfortable with beautiful toiletries, linen and very comfortable bed. Very generous starter packs of tea, coffee, a complimentary G&T, well equipped kitchen. The owner, Alice, was very prompt in reply to any queries. Extremely clean with a complimentary clean after 4 days.

The apartment was huge for me and my partner! It has 2 floors with a very well equipped kitchen, real Italian coffee maker and everything you need, if you decided to cook something by your own. We ate most of the time outside as there were many restaurants, coffee shops etc. near by. It is next to a supermarket as well. We parked our car at the public parking "Talete", only 15 Euro per day and not far away from the accommodation. Everything was clean, modern and spacious. All attractions and sights within a walking distance. We loved this place! P.S. if you are not fit, keep in mind there is no lift only stairs but the view from the last floor is beautiful ;-)

It wasn't made clear before we arrived that it was necessary to walk through one bedroom in order to reach the bathroom/toilet. We were staying with friends and managed the situation but it wasn't ideal, to say the least . So really the property is more suited to family rather than two couples who are friends. Despite the above we really enjoyed our stay in Syracusa.

Situation of the property was excellent in the centre of the Old Town. Room clean, tidy, no problem entering, comfortable beds.

Great view, great location, stunning property and exceptional hosts. The place is spacious, bright and has high ceilings and overall just very well appointed. Syracuse was the experience of Italy we were listing for after all the tourist crowds in other areas it was such a more peaceful experience here.
