Luca was the perfect host! The B&B is what you'd expect a typical Italian villa to be like. We stayed in the balcony room which extends across the whole of the back of the house and has a coffee table and chairs overlooking the garden. Everything was thought of from extra pillows to a shoe horn and polish. We borrowed bikes to ride around the city walls and Luca even booked us a restaurant under the arches, which was sublime. The location was perfect for us, and we're so glad that we stayed just outside the city walls (less than 5 min walk). One of the best stays we've had. Thank you!

Great location - just 5 minutes to city walls. Easy to find, with secure car parking in rear car park. Building is beautiful and set in well cared for gardens (where we had breakfast). Loved the decor and styling, and fact that it is an old classic building. Breakfast was brilliant - huge selection to choose from. Rooms very comfortable. Great shower and room facilities. Host brilliant. Spoke good English and really helpful when it came to helping us regarding car malfunctions and dealing with the recovery mechanic.

Villa San Donato is a wonderfully place, a garden full of flowers where guests have their excellent breakfast. The villa lies in walking distance to the city walls. The best thing though: Luca, the host is immensely friendly and helpful. A charming host....

There was nothing to not like about this B&B.

Excellent location just outside the city walls, and an easy flat walk into the centre or to the railway station for good connections to Pizza. Also a good choice of restaurants within the city close by. Lovely breakfast, served by Luca, which could be taken in the beautiful garden on fine mornings. Most attractive old villa which was easy to find, aided by excellent directions from the owners. Probably the one most important facility for us was secure parking in the courtyard for our classic car which was our reason for booking, and proved a splendid choice in every way.

A fantastic villa a short walk from the walled city centre. Our room was furnished in style and Luca provided plenty of information about the town and where to go.

It’s very well located, a sort walk to the city wall. Luca is very nice and full of recommendatios. The breakfast was really good and we had it in the garden, which made a special feel of Tuscany. I recommend this B&B when in Lucca.

Luca was very helpful, offering to provide transport to & from the station without charge. The villa is beautiful-full of character. Delicious breakfasts and great proximity to the walled town. Really enjoyed our 2 night stay.

Luca the host did everything to ensure we had a wonderful stay in Lucca. He offered to pick us up from the station if we needed and as we were driving offered us clear directions. There was free parking available at the property also. The B&B and room itself was just incredible. So comfortable and beautifully decorated, we regret not staying longer. Luca gave us lots of great recommendations for visiting Lucca- go into the wall, trust us!!!! To finish our stay we had the most incredible breakfast in the sun of the garden prepared by Luca. We can’t wait to come back.
