Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomRoom seemed overpriced for what it was, but this is Venice and the booking was made at the last minute.
Old-fashioned hotel in a quiet corner of Castello, very peaceful place. The rooms look as if they come from the mid-20th century - they are comfortable, but simple. No lift, so you have to walk up a flight or two of stairs. Pleasant private courtyard and garden in front of hotel. Very helpful staff at reception.

United KingdomThe location was amazing for the purpose of my visit to Venice. I visited specifically for the Biennale Arte, and the hotel is right in between the Giardini & Arsenale - perfect spot! I also want to highlight the staff, who were really amazing. I realised after washing my hair the first morning, that I forgot to bring a hairbrush.. and my hair will look like straw if I can't brush it! With the use of Google translate I was able to explain my issue, and the lovely housekeeper rummaged through her bag to find a brush for me to use until I could go buy my own. Lifesaver!

CanadaIt is quite expensive for what it is, but I suppose that’s just Venice. For a single bed room with a shared bathroom, it was very pricey. The room, while clean, was more utilitarian than comfortable. It was very bare bones and the bed is more a small cot. This level of comfort doesn’t bother me as I don’t need anything luxurious, but the price should be much lower for that sort of thing. Also, I couldn’t find a way to avoid having the daily cleaning service. There is nothing to put on the door to indicate you don’t want it cleaned and when I went to reception to request this the receptionist wasn’t there. So for those of you who prefer the privacy of no room cleanings, make sure to let them know at check in..
The hotel has total nonna vibes — very clean but also very outdated furnishings in a charming way. It felt safe and comfortable for a solo traveller. There is a beautiful terrasse and it is in a lovely not-so-touristy neighbourhood close to the biennale.

United StatesIt’s very far from the train station so be prepared to travel a bit to get there. The bed was too firm for me and the bathrooms are shared. The staff clean the bathrooms daily but the other guests staying while I was there left them pretty dirty.
This is a great place to stay if you want to see the Bienale Arte festival locations. It’s quite cheap compared to most other options

Ukrainethe bed wasn't comfortable enough, we had a double bad, which consisted from 2 matrasses indise one frame, and there was always a void in between. otherwise the room was lovely, we had a nice view facing the rooftops of Venice, and overall it was a great experience for quite a reasonable budget comparing to average Venice price range.
location is great, close to La Biennale and all the restos at via Garobaldi, yet in the quite area, with its own beautiful garden/patio with tables and benches to relax and enjoy your pizza to go (I recommend to take it out from Nevodi which is 7 min walk from the hotel). we had a toilet and shower to share with 2 other rooms (which was much cheaper to rent), and this shared bathroom area was really clean and well kept.

LithuaniaShared bathroom caused issues to get in it in the morning. Cleaners started working at 7 am and were quite noisy. Seemed quite expensive for what you get, but it might just be an issue with Venice in general.

The personal was very friendly and helpful, the hotel had a very charming old vibe and was well located in a quiet neighborhood sheltered from the touristy crowds with some good restaurants and cafés nearby. Only a 15/20 minutes walk to Piazza San Marco.

SerbiaIt's not a 5-star hotel, so there is only basic stuff in the room (no fridge, for example, or kettle (but Valter provided it upon request). The smell in the room is pretty stale, but I guess it's a typical problem for Venice, and luckily, one gets used to any smell in about 3 minutes. )
The location of the hotel is very nice, to my taste. It's really close to Arsenal and Giardini, and via Garibaldi with shops and restaurants, but it's the area where real Venetians live. At the same time, it's about 20 minutes walk to San Marco. We got a nice room (surprisingly big for Venice), with a beautiful view of the canal. The beds were hard and very comfortable. The host was very friendly and helpful. And there is a lovely garden, where we've spent the late evenings with a glass of wine.

Great location for the Biennale and restaurants in Castello, and close to St Mark's Sq. Accommodation is more hostel-like than hotel-like, but authentic old Venice, comfortable and very clean. Staff are lovely and so helpful. We forgot our plug adaptor and the hotelier kindly lent us one for our whole trip. Also, they accommodated our late flight by minding our bags in left luggage all day.
