I recently stayed at this incredible hotel in Matera, and it was an unforgettable experience. The owner was fantastic, offering invaluable recommendations and personally assisting with parking and highlighting the best viewpoints in this stunning city. The hotel itself is gorgeous and impeccably maintained. The terrace offers breathtaking views of Matera and the cathedral – an absolutely amazing sight. I was working remotely during my stay, and the wifi was flawless, making it an ideal spot for remote work. Location-wise, it's perfect. Situated right in the heart of Matera, it's super close to all the key attractions. While the parking lot is just a few minutes away, I appreciated being able to drop my bags off at the hotel first. One of the highlights was the delicious breakfast served on the balcony, accompanied by the spectacular view. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Matera.

No fault of Lo Stemma, but it's unfortunate that parking is at a distance and was the most expensive during our two-week tour of Puglia.

All staff, without exception, are dedicated to your satisfaction. They seemed to be absolutely sincere in this. Modern and very clean hotel has attractive interiors and close-up views of ancient Matera. Community patio is a great bonus. Very good breakfast (included) is made by friendly, happy people.

Lo Stemma Luxury is a quaint and beautiful boutique hotel. My husband and I stayed here one night. We were early, but upon arrival the lovely receptionist named Camila greeted us and said the room was ready. She explained everything brilliantly and gave us our keys. The room was spacious, comfortable, and very modern. There was great WiFi throughout the hotel. The hotel is in an old castle and beautifully decorated to fit the period, but with modern touches. Breakfast was wonderful. Be sure to look up at the ceilings, as they are hand painted and hand decorated. We highly recommend this beautiful hotel.

The only thing I can think of is the layer of dust on the black tile shelf in the bathroom and the fact that after unlocking the door, you had to literally force it with the shoulder because the door wouldn’t open easily.

Amazing, beautiful hotel, situated in a lovely restructured palace, with a fantastic position for visiting Sassi by foot. Public parking is also super close. Our special compliments go the decorative solutions inside the palace and the fantastic hotel perfume. The front staff was beyond helpful and gave us great recommendations for restaurants and itineraries. The service in general was impeccable. The room was very comfortable, the bed and linens were great, the bathroom- comfortably sized, with small toiletries and slippers provided. We’ve also had a nice breakfast. Would absolutely recommend it to anyone and definitely hope to come back!

New hotel opened end December 2022 with excellent quality finishing, great location and very friendly and helpful staff. The view from the room and the breakfast terrasse is stunning, we highly recommend it. Possibility to come with the car to drop luggage which is a big plus in Matera.

Not much :) Just be aware that the hotel is in the limited traffic zone, so you can only reach it by car for the check-in and check-out. It wasn't a problem at all for us, though, just something to be aware.

Very big and comfortable room, the bed was huge and great for a restful sleep. The hotel is located at the top of the Sassi, the beautiful historical centre, making it really easy to reach the most beautiful landmarks of the town by foot. The staff are really really nice, everyone is so kind and helpful, particularly Rocco. Beautiful terrace with an amazing view, highly recommended for your breakfast in the morning if the weather permits it. I particularly loved that there are only 9 rooms, so your stay will feel even more premium.

We loved the hotel and our room was beautiful. The only thing that could improve it would be a little more atmosphere. Maybe offer guests to congregate early evening by offering drinks/ antipasti?
