Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomLack of power points in the room. Dining menu could have been more extensive. Jacuzzi not working.
Location and views. Staff were lovely. Noemi and Valentina at reception were very pleasant and helpful. Dining room staff and bar lady also very friendly. Room kept spotlessly clean.

United KingdomHad a issue with ants in both rooms told nothing to be done.Bed slats in single room didn't go to end of bed so head kept sinking into gap, ended up sleeping wrong way in bed. Also not enough plug sockets in single room and location of only one very poor.
We stayed for 5 nights, Had 1 single room, which had a pleasant view. Double room with balcony had a lovely view of lake garda. Size was good, bed comfortable and room clean, lovely bathroom with big shower and a bidet. Breakfast was great good selection of continental breakfast items and procesco. On whole lovely old fashioned bit outdated in places but great location for Malcesine. 15 min walk away.

United KingdomThe staff were brilliant and they were very helpful. Called us taxis when needed. Help us store bags when the room wasn't ready. So we could go off an explore. The rooms we had a lake view. Our room was clean. It was simple and basic but just what needed. It could have done with a kettle or coffee machine in the room to make it that bit better. The continental breakfast was very nice and a good start to the day. Nice walk to the lake from the hotel. About 10 min walk to the lake.

Czech RepublicThe location of the hotel was suitable for trips to the south and north of the lake and at the same time in the vicinity to the Monte Baldo cabla car. Also town of Malcesine provides a pleasent place for good food and romantic evenings.

Lovely quiet relaxing hotel and about 10min walk into malcesine , lovely friendly staff , nice breakfast with a good choice.

United KingdomMy partner is a coeliac and the gluten free provision was limited, which presented a few problems for her.
Breakfast was good and of continental type. The location was excellent and there was an olive grove by the hotel. It was easy to walk to the lakeside by walking downhill, across the lake road and down to a walkway by the lake (takes about 8 minutes) and then there was a very pleasant walk by the lake into the centre of Malcesine. The hotel is a little old fashioned, but it was great to have a spacious bedroom, which also had a large seating area and armchairs. The balcony was a good size and the views from it were lovely. The location is also qui3t

BelgiumNothing to be honest.
Friendly staff. Very nice breakfast with typical products. Lot of choice in coffee types. View on the lake from my room and terrace. Very easy access to the lake by a little beautiful narrow street. Beach not far in southern direction with amazing sunsets on the mountains in direction of Brescia. Bar (I didn’t go to).

United KingdomThe pool was small and not heated as implied.
Was really impressed with the hotel after some of the reviews complained at it looking tired. While it's certainly not ultra modern, it's very clean and comfortable, and the beds and bathroom in our room were great. Breakfast was good too. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the centre of Malcesine, but it's easy to take a 5 minute walk to the lakeside and then enjoy a scenic walk to the centre. We really enjoyed out stay.

United KingdomThe road up to the hotel wasn't great- a hairpin bend off the main road and a very narrow squeeze for the car. I'd recommend approaching from the direction of Malcesine so you don't have to attempt the hairpin. Also, our room was a bit dated in terms of decor - lots of 80s chintz.
Fabulous views from our balcony, and only a short walk into the centre of Malcesine. The hotel has a lot of character and the staff are friendly, particularly the lady in the bar who made us drinks. The breakfast was nice too. Good value for money.

SwedenInsulation is not very good so we could hear the neighbors talking. Good that we had very intelligent neighbors that never party in the night. The balcony door was very hard to close, almost impossible. No real blanket in the room for those who would like to have it warmer. Breakfast- being a vegetarian, i can say that i missed some food for myself. Would be nice to have some fish or chicken, not only MEAT MEAT.
Location of the hotel is quite high up, so the views are really amazing from this spot. It takes about 10 min walk to get to the center of Malcesine. The city and neighborhoods are very beautiful. Room was big enough for two persons. Towels, hairdryer. AC worked good. Pool!!!! The owners of the hotel are very polite, kind and nice people. It was pleasure to meed them.

IrelandThe hotel seems farther away but is actually only a 10 walk from the centre , as it's up on a hill, the view from the outside bar area and pool was spectacular, the room was very comfortable and clean, the breakfast had a good selection, the staff were lovely and friendly, good pool area, if you are arriving by bus, I would recommend getting a taxi on arrival with baggage but otherwise the walk is very easy , I would stay here again

United KingdomWe stayed for 4 days, and had no replacement toiletries. Plus the body lotion was half used. Lucky we had some with us. Wi-Fi was weak, but working.
Much nicer than expected! We had a lake view room which was lovely, with fridge, hairdryer, Wi-Fi, comfy bed. There’s a steep walk up to the hotel from the main road, or narrow road if driving. There are 3 tennis courts but these are set back from the hotel further up the lane by about 200 yds, free racquet/balls from reception. Please note that google maps indicates 2 hotels with the same name, but there is only 1. Breakfast was good, same table every day. Staff very friendly, but they don’t speak much English. Pool was nice, with a jacuzzi and sun beds/chairs. The walk into Malcesine takes about 15/20 minutes, there is a path off the main road a short way down from the hotel, where you can walk by the lake. We would recommend this hotel and would stay again if we were visiting Malcesine.
