On hot day it may need a lot of AC. Driving a car up the small hill to get there might be tricky particularly with a sharp turn in the beginning.

If you are comfortable with a home-type stay, you will be happy here. If you are looking for a hotel type experience, this is not it.

The owner was very kind and helpful with my many questions beforehand--Thank you! I stayed in the smaller, ground-floor apartment because it has a clothes washing machine. This apartment is fine for a single person and cozy for a couple. The apartment below is larger and would be more suitable for a family. The smaller apartment does not have a yard, but there is a small outdoor table where you can sit and eat your meals and look out over trees and a landscape (there is a local road nearby, so you see the tops of buses and cars going by). Both apartments are well located very near the "New Gate" to Assisi and within walking distance of the only supermarket in town. If I can return to Assisi, I would stay here again.

The traffic noise during work rush hours was an unwelcome intrusion on the otherwise idyllic location. It was a bit tricky to keep the shower doors from leaking .

The interior design was nice, with arched doorways, and stained glass door. The kitchen was small, but complete, and functional. The view from the entrance was beautiful. The location, so close to the old city entrance, was very convenient. The host was very friendly.

Fantastic position! Near city via an escalator, easy parking on premises, peaceful and set in a garden with an amazing view of ancient walls, Santa Chiara basilica and the valley. Very welcoming and efficient hosts throughout our stay. Cosy, comfortable and well equipped apartment. Thank you Angela and Franco! Our stay with you was great!

Nothing, everything was perfect and exceeded our expectations.

Angela and Franco are the perfect hosts and have an absolutely gorgeous home and the apartment we stayed in was maybe a little dated but it had character, it was roomy, was spotlessly clean had everything we needed for our three night stay. The property has street parking and also an option to park on a lower property. The home is opposite a car park which didn't really bother us and there is an escalator that takes you up to the Assisi main gates not more than 100m from the home which was just perfect. Definitely would stay here again is we visit Assisi and would recommend to anyone.

The house is absolutely perfect in it's style with good central heating, fully accessories with all needs. Beds and rooms are excellent and the courtyard is amazing beautiful with views and under Assisi town. Just few minutes walk to Assisi. And Angela is really a great Signora in all matters. She is very helpful and welcome us as there family. I would recommend La Casa Di Famiglia and thanks again to Angela. Will see you again 🙂

A minor thing - the kitchen needs some sharp knives for food preparation.

Met by the owner, efficient and helpful advice on getting to the property and also on things to do in the area. This property is an old villa that has been restored and has a lovely big olive grove garden. Beautiful view of walled Assisi from the bedroom. Less than 200m to the gate of Assisi.

Host was very nice and welcoming, she checked in with us during our trip to make sure we didn't have any questions or concerns. Location is amazing just outside the city centre, walking distance to sights, churches, restaurants.

We were aware of the fact that there was no air conditioning in the apartment and we were little afraid if maybe this would be a problem. But the apartment is on the ground floor (almost a basement) and the house is old with stone walls which really helped and we did not miss the aircon at all. Actually it was probably healthier that the aircon was not there.

This is an excellent apartment in Assisi, very close to the center, behind the walls of the city but still just few meters from the Santa Chiara basilica and San Damiano. We loved the place and highly recommend to everyone coming to Assisi. Very convenient when you come by car (which is not the case for many apartments directly in the center). Nice garden with a view of the city. Everything was just perfect.
