Opted for the a room with a balcony. Really neither use nor ornament, and wasn't worth the extra cost. Mostly because we were in a room next to smokers, who obviously used the balcony to stand out and smoke on. This meant we had to keep our doors shut and couldn't sit out on it (though it was tiny, and only one chair on it). The same couple also liked to have their TV on loud, and if it wasn't for the noise of the a/c it would definitely have encroached on our peace and quiet. The same couple also brought their cigarettes up to the terrace at breakfast (really), but thankfully, perhaps due to another couple having a baby with them, they chose not to smoke. I really don't appreciate having to inhale smokers' cigarette smoke, just go out on the street! I think the whole place should be no smoking, including on the enclosed terrace. They did then go and smoke on their balcony, whilst we were still eating breakfast on the terrace and the smoke just travelled up and engulfed us! Don't bother with the balcony, unless you're a smoker.

Easy to find, about 20 minutes' walk from the train station, ideally located within the walls. Room was spotless, a boutique hotel feel. Bathroom was well stocked with toiletries. Great shower. Little safe for passports etc. in the wardrobe. Excellent wifi. Nice little touches, such as cushions and candles. Breakfast was excellent, savouries and sweet. Plenty of drink choices. Option to buy alcohol. Lovely little terrace to have breakfast. Seems to be only 5 or 6 rooms, and only 3 were occupied when I was there, so quite quiet (see below). All in all, great little place. As usual, I did a LOT of research, finally settling on this place, would definitely return. I noted that several people commented on the steep staircase, and that it was awkward with suitcases, I could see it could be. If you can forgo the numerous change of outfits just bring smaller luggage, it really makes the experience so much easier, especially traveling around cities, and Europe. The amount of tourists I saw struggling with suitcases on trains and busses and through towns, it really seemed to take away some pleasure for them, especially in quite intense heat! On the subject of luggage, we were able to leave our bags at the accommodation whilst we had a stroll around the town on our last day. This was super helpful, but it is a matter of trust, because they were just left under the stairs, in view of guests, and mostly there is no-one on reception. I usually use one of those luggage storage places and pay for the convenience and security but took the chance this time, and happy to report everything was safe.

Was clean and comfortable. Lovely breakfast and terrace for meals and drinks outside. Wine available for purchase if needed. Close to shopping and in a lovely older part of the city.

There was water wasn’t replenished every day not a problem as can buy it but needed more tea/coffee/milk/sugar Beds very creaky

Property was in a perfect location right by one of the entrances into Lucca Cute room very clean lovely staff Bathroom had small samples shower gel etc which is great when only travelling with hand luggage

Not much to dislike, apart from no elevator, although staff helped with our bags up the narrow and slightly steep stairs.

Great apartment inside the walls. Great location to walk everywhere. Nice terrace for breakfast and use any time - coffee or drinks later. Staff very helpful.

Nothing! Stairs could be challenging with luggage but..

Great location in the centre of Lucca. Wonderful big bedroom and spacious bathroom and most important. Quiet! Very helpful staff, delicious breakfast on the terrace on the top floor. You need to be quite nimble to climb the stairs to the accommodation level.

What a find. A great B&B in central Lucca ,close to everything and very clean and comfortable. The staff were excellent , stored our luggage and arranged a taxi on leaving. The breakfast was varied and delicious, taken out on a wonderful little terrace. We could not have asked for anything more n

Loved the location, very clean and nice rooms. Parking can be arranged (16€/day), but we used public parking (3min walk from apartment) - payable from 8.00-20.00 ☺️
