Amazing accomodation in the middle of the medieval borgo di rocca calascio. The accomodation is also very close to the castle so very convenient to avoid long walks. Totally recommended.

To get to our room, then we had to walk up hills that were rocky and slippery. There was no one to help with the luggage. Leaving was very dangerous as the rocks and paths were very slippery and we were carrying our luggage. 

Susanna, who was the host for our breakfast was amazing. She greeted us in Lou of the owner and insured we were comfortable until we were able to get into our room.

When we arrived we had no directions to our room. The only place open was the bar in the centre of the village so I asked there and was told that they were just closing and all the rooms in Il Borgo were now closed and I must have made a mistake. When I showed the booking confirmation I was told I was in the wrong place and should carry on up to the rifugio - which was also closed. We finally managed to contact the owner and gain access to our room. We weren't the only ones to have this experience, but it didn't spoil our stay.

Our room was in a restored house in the old town and was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. There was a small terrace outside, which was a great spot to have a glass of wine in the evening and just enjoy the atmosphere of the place - it really is very special. The castle is just a short walk up the hill and the views are incredible. Once you're up there there are lots of walks. We'd definitely recommend a visit

The location out of this world. Breakfast superb home cooking with lovely family hosts. A wonderful, unique experience. Grazie The castle was within walking distance and truly felt top of the world.

The host is great, he really is! Very charming. My only suggestion would be to send the “video” instructions to the guest 3 hours before they are scheduled to arrive in case they arrive earlier than expected. We arrived early, and couldn’t figure out where our room was…and we didn’t realize our room was in a Castle! 🤪😂. Once we had the instructions, we found our room, and were SO pleased!!

I’ve never stayed in a Castle Room before and this place, Rocca Calascio, is quite the spectacular treat!

We spent a lovely weekend in February there! The apartment is perfect, you’ll find everything you need. Alessandro, the host was very friendly and provided us with many tips for the weekend. The scenery is absolutely mindblowing. We will definitely be back again!

The door was impossible to lock so had to leave it open whenever I left the apartment. Some basics were missing, like lighter for the stove. Although the food at the restaurants was good, the service was unfortunately not.

Excellent view, beautiful old style apartment, location was great for seeing the fortress. 2 restaurants just a few steps away. Locals were very kind and welcoming. Breakfast at the hotel was good.

Breakfast is non existing. Missing pillows in the bed. General level of cleaning; there is dust in hidden spaces. The closing lock and key provided is not perfectly working and could break anytime. Price required is too expensive for service offered and nearby room prices.

The breakfast offered, with 2 small bags of dried bread "fette biscottate" and 2 small single portion marmalade during our 2 days of staying, by simple definition could be defined as a "joke breakfast". Do not expect any breakfast worth that name and bring your own stuff or by something to eat in nearby bar; what hat you are getting in exchange a too high price (compared with nearby rooms available, is just a simple rented room. The owner will additionally inform guests to contact a person for every need, working in a nearby bar; but such person resulted to be not aware of many things and tired to answer to guest she cannot attend or satisfy. In the room there are no double pillows available, and the present ones are really low. There is no daily room make-up for the high price requested. Room general cleaning is medium to poor and the claimed room space is not for the sole room, but also includes the bathroom. The only good point of our staying concerns the fact that the room "le Scalette" offered to us is cozy; but just that.
