We have stayed here many times over the years as it is near our son's apartment. This is the first time since the pandemic and unfortunately the whole place is in need of better maintenance and starting to look shabby.

The breakfast was very good. The 70s vibe is charming and should be kept as it is.

Retro design, with a lot of wood, dust, clean bathroom, but the shower door is unstable, danger of falling, and the kitchenette with an old refrigerator, the old stove, I don't know if it worked, the sink, without anything else (eg a kettle to boil in water for a tea). To use the kitchenette, you must come prepared with everything you need, otherwise it is not useful. The city tax here is 4.10 euros per person per night.

Accommodation in a studio room (double room), with sleeping space + sofa bed, kitchenette and bathroom, clean linen and towels, hot water.

It is probably outdated and not fully up to the today standards, the beautifully decorated rooms, bar and diner room all show the glory days of this place are gone but it is a hidden gem !! Enjoyed it, and it is a big recommendation for your stay in Bologna

Disappointing Service and Payment Issues I recently stayed at Grand Hotel Elite and was disappointed with the service I received. At check-in, I presented my American Express card (which I had already set up through Booking.com), but the lady at the desk informed me that they do not accept Amex. When I asked what I should do if I didn’t have an alternative card, she responded by suggesting I cancel my booking and go to another hotel that accepts Amex! This was both unhelpful and unprofessional. Additionally, when we checked out at 20:00 to reach our flight at the airport , the gentleman at the desk questioned why we were checking out at that time, which was quite strange. It felt like there was a lack of basic hospitality and customer service during our stay. Overall, the experience left much to be desired, and I would not recommend this hotel if you expect smooth service or flexible payment options.

Breakfast was extra (8euros) and didn’t look worth it, so I opted out. What makes this a 4*? Seemed like a 2* to me. I pushed the “%do not disturb” button and they cleaned anyway. NOT a non smoking property. Smokers outside entrance and on exterior patios (in hotel rooms just next door).

The room seemed a bit outdated, with the main light flickering every now and then, while hearing a buzzing noise at the switch. Airco kept switching itself off on the second day every 10 minutes.

24h reception and free parking option are a definite plus. Room was quite large with lots of space to keep luggage and personal items and still move around comfortably.

Air conditioning didn't work the first night, and it was very hot. They fixed it afterwards (after asking twice) and it worked okay (it actually became too cold at some point). Maybe it's not written clearly in the Booking site, but you need to pay the city tax when you get there (it's not included in the Booking price; it was 3€ per person per night at the time of writing). This is pretty normal for me, but apparently two other people mentioned that the price they saw on Booking mentioned the city tax was included, so check well once you book.

It's a very old hotel with a lot of problems, it hasn't been renovated and the air conditioning and plumbing systems don't work properly, and the rooms have an unpleasant smell.

My room wasn’t cleaned once in the 3 nights I stayed. The breakfast was poor hot food was put in cold trays and water/juices were left to become warm. You are better off going for breakfast at the bakery a few hundred metres towards town.

Very good price, close to airport and also in walking distance to old city. Room we had was very nice, big, clean and comfortable
