Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaSoundproofing between rooms and street does not exist - you can hear everything from the room next door and when your neighbours turn their shower on you think there are Niagara Falls in your bathroom
Excellent location, very friendly staff, good breakfast - parking in the hotel is the usual stack the cars on top of each other and leave the keys at reception - very tight entrance to garage - the other option is the train station car park next door

AustraliaWe couldn't get the fridge to cool down sufficiently. The shower is in a deep bath tub and maybe slippery and difficult for some people to use. These are minor issues and were not a problem for us.
Great location, comfortable room, quiet and clean. The breakfast room was lovely. There was enough variety of food. The woman who made my espressos each morning, was wonderful.

GermanyNot really much to complain about. My room was on a side road with a bit of traffic but it died away in the evening, however not really a big issue for me, I did like the room I had and the daylight that I got from the outwards facing window.
A lovely hotel that lives up to its name as a Grand Hotel. Very close to the station and as soon as you walk through the entrance you realise that this is a classical hotel. Very nice room and bathroom. A good breakfast and a very pleasant ambience, the garden outside the dining room was lovely. I would have liked to have stayed longer.

United StatesThe minor issues: the shower water was not hot enough to my like, and Wifi was slow.
Nestled within the walls of a high-ceilinged old building, my recent stay at this hotel was quite enchanting. The moment I stepped into my room, the towering ceilings caught my eyes. The room itself was very spacious and clean, with comfortable sitting area. And the high ceilings really added to the overall spaciousness and felling of coziness. The bathroom was also very spacious equipped with all the toiletries. I also appreciated the hotel's amenities, including the beautiful dining area. The breakfast options were diverse and tasty, providing a great start to my day. In short, the hotel is a true gem for those who appreciate the glamour of high ceilings, and enjoy the seamless blend of old-world charm and contemporary comfort.

United StatesThe hotel overall needs a bit of updating regarding some details. The carpet in our room was stained (not just one or two but overall) it looked bad although everything was clean. The paint everywhere in the hotel, in our room and staircase also needs to be refreshed. The balcony door in our room had some rotten parts on the bottom (inside).
Great location- we arrived by train and the hotel is a two-minute walk at the most and is also a short walk to Old Town. The hotel itself is an architecture gem. Also, throughout the hotel it is decorated heavily with gorgeous paintings. Lovely, superb staff, great breakfast buffet in a beautiful restaurant, and the girl working there was fantastic- always smiled and paid attention to every detail serving the guests. Our bedroom & bathroom was huge (we had room #201).

United StatesCan’t think of anything
The hotel is an older, traditional style hotel. The room was large and comfortable, and very convenient to the train station and to old town Lecce. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was more than adequate.

United StatesThere is a slight musty smell in some of the rooms and the cleaning sprays were very strong smelling and caused us to have itchy eyes (mind you, this is true of a lot of hotels in the region). There was a motion-sensor light that turned on every time I turned over in bed, which was a bit annoying.
The location is really great for those without a car--right next to the train station and taxi file. The breakfast buffet is one of the best in Puglia, in a lovely dining hall. There is a roomy lobby downstairs where you can work or relax. The bathroom we had was huge, which is unusual in Puglia in my experience, and the beds were heavenly.

AustraliaOther reviews are correct - the carpet (in the hallways in particular) lets them down. The carpet in my room was okay. I noticed some rooms had timber floors. I received a scam email which purported to come from the hotel's wi-fi provider - so it seems they had a security breach, although I did not get that confirmed by the hotel. I did not use the wi-fi after that.
The room was very large, and I liked the style of the furnishings and muted colours. Space provided for a suitcase, other than the floor. The bathroom was huge with plenty of space around the basin for toiletry bags - a nice change! Shower was good but over the bathtub, but there were adequate hand-holds. The breakfast was very good. All staff were friendly. The pool was open (early Nov) but a bit too cool and then we had rain. The pool seating area looked well maintained. I was given a good map on checkin. Very close to the railway station and to centro storico.

SwedenRooms a bit outdated. Dirty floors, bathrooms needs cleaning (black dirt in corners). Tea but no coffe available in the rooms, in Italy! Even the simplest B&B offers coffemachines at the rooms.

United KingdomThe beds seemed really old and were quite uncomfortable for our two night stay.
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel, as it was a quick walk into the centre of Lecce and had a pool. I will say that the facilities overall are a bit rundown and the hotel could use a bit of a re-paint and some new mattresses. The breakfast offering was great, with gluten free options and a nice setting.

United StatesThe hallways upstairs, especially the carpets, are nasty. They need to rip it all out. Some parts of the hotel appear freshly painted, others dingy. Our first room was a large bright suite. However, the couch was old and funky, and the room had a smell. We later determined it was sewer gas coming from the bidet. Also, a bit of mold in the bathroom. When we switched rooms, it was a totally different experience. So, I advise checking out your room before you unpack anything. The breakfast is a large spread, so-so quality but you can always find something good.
The entire hotel staff was most excellent. Very helpful and accommodating. Our new room was clean and comfortable. The reserved indoor parking, though it took a bit of getting used to, was very handy as parking in that area is crazy. The downstairs common areas and pool were very nice. The breakfast area, both in and outside, were very nice. The hotel is in a good location to quickly get to the city center.
