The location was perfect, only a 5 min walk to Ortigia. Francesco was an outstanding host, made sure that our stay from start to end was memorable and extremely pleasant. The room was pristine. His recommendations a plus. Loved the food places he suggested. Overall mega great experience. Thank You so much!! For sure next time we go it will be our place to stay. Highly recommend.

Very helpful staff- Francesco, thanks for all your help and advice. Spacious room with a terrace and marina/sea view. Internet worked fine. Excellent base to explore on foot Ortigia and Syracusa, walking distance to most of the sites. Surprisingly quiet location, considering it is in the middle of the city. Parking a car can be difficult. Managed to park the car in the Talete public parking 10 mins walk from the hotel. On the positive note: parking has armed guards, so the car is relatively safe. Make sure you have Easy Park app to pay for the parking.

By far our best place of our whole 2-week trip through Sicily. Comfortable, clean, very spacious, not to mention the location is the best you can hope for. But the best part of Fortaleza Charme House is definitely his staff and service. Rarely have we experience so much kindness and care. Francesco is extremely kind, responsive to messages and helpful. He provided us with the best addresses in town and each of his recommendation turned out to be a wonderful time. Many thanks for everything!

Best location in Siracusa, easy to walk to main attractions. Francesco is an exceptional host, very friendly and polite. He is effective and quick to respond and anticipate our needs. He gave us great information about restaurants and how to make the best out of our stay. The apartment was impeccable and nicely decorated. We had a nice balcony with nice view of the marina. We enjoyed very much.

Absolutely stunning property, hosted by the kind, helpful, and magnanimous Francesco. I believe it is newly renovated, as everything inside this older building feels brand new, elegant, and thoughtfully designed. The property backs to the smaller Ortigia harbor. Gorgeous front reception area. Beautiful high tech rooms with attention paid to every architectural and furnishing detail. Excellent shower with great water pressure and heat. This was our first shower in more than a month that was completely enclosed so no water leaks on the floor! Stunning floor tiles, draperies, and wall decor. Spotless. High quality linens, and towels. Very comfortable bed. Nespresso, kettle, and refrigerator in room with 2 complimentary waters. Excellent, quiet air conditioning. Great, quiet, central (to Ortigia) location. Excellent daily cleaning service. We couldn’t have asked for a better accommodation in Siricusa, and are already planning our return.

Everything! Great location. Huge, beautiful room. Great views from some rooms. Our room had a city view, not a water view, and our balcony was very nice. The water view rooms are even nicer. Our host was very present, helpful and informative. The place is just across the bridge from Ortigia, where we spent most of our time. It’s also one block away from the hop on / hop off bus to take you other places in Siracusa. There’s also a wonderful pasticceria right around the corner. Delicious!

We loved it! Our host , Francesco , was so helpful from the moment I booked. He was always available for communication and so friendly and welcoming. We had a lovey balcony with a view of the marina. The property was recently renovated and the decor was attractive and functional. The manager Francesco was very helpful.z we had a room with a bed and sofa bed, it was very spacious and both beds were surprisingly comfortable.

One of my best stays in Italy. Large suite, lovely bathroom and personal hot tub, kitchenette with dishes/ pot&pans/kettle/nespresso, brand new facilities, lovely decor, excellent lighting, a/c, location could not be beat, great cleaning staff.

Nothing, the hotel was great and we would stay here again. Regarding Syracuse, parking is a pain but Francesco provides a lot of recommendations and can help interpret street parking signs.

We enjoyed our stay at Fortaleza charme house. Our room was spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom had good water pressure with plenty of hot water. Francesco was friendly and helpful. The location is great - easily walkable to everywhere, including the ruins and ortigia.

There is limited parking since the hotel is in the heart of town and the two other parking spots Francesco suggested for me were full due to G7 happening on those days. So I had to park at a 10 minute distance which wasn’t a big deal. I would still stay there if I go again. Only a slight issue.

All credits go to the famous Francesco! We was an amazing person who was massively helpful. He started communicating with me even before I got there and helped with parking, recommendations and reservations. The location is amazing, the place is charming, my room was so spacious and so well designed, there was even a jacuzzi in the room. The lights, colours, Sicilian tiles, and super comfy bed. I loved every minute in the room. Highly recommend it.

Our particular room which was located on the ground floor did not offer a view - the large arched window opened straight out onto the pavement - but this was compensated for by a lofty ceiling, that wonderful stone arch and the general charm of the space.

A beautifully refurbished building in a side street very close to the bridge onto Ortigia island, just a few minutes from anywhere, really. The room took the form of a lovely ground floor suite directly alongside the reception with an amazing feature stone arch between the sleeping and living spaces, all beautifully furnished and decorated, with discrete air conditioning and subtle lighting, and fabulous ceramic floor tiles. A very neatly designed mini kitchen in the living space was useful, with complementary tea, good coffee and water. Francesco, our host, was extremely helpful, pleasant and attentive and a great contact for all the delights of Syracusa and beyond. The building has a roof terrace but we never actually quite got round to making time to see that in our three day stay! I recommend the Fortaleza Charme House very highly, and that you follow Francesco's guidance for a stylish and delightful stay in the city.

This was the most beautiful large room with high ceilings ,a stone archway and was beautifully renovted. The bathroom was excellent and very clean with modern facilities. air conditoning was wonderful

Nothing really - the surrounding streets and harbour are not “shiny tourist” streets but we liked that, and the main attractions are a only few minutes walk away over the bridge

The location is great, just over the bridge from Ortigia. The rooms are very recently refurbished to a high standard. Our rooms each had a balcony overlooking the working harbour which for us was fascinating as we watched the fishermen at work! The service from the staff was exceptional, they couldn’t have been more helpful with organising taxis, excursions and recommendations for restaurants.

The hotel is like minutes away from the entrance of Ortigia, really nice property (recently renovated) and SUPER BIG rooms with kitchenette and sofa beds for kids. Francesco was on call at all times and a person that gave us recommendations for lifetime!!

The room was huge and super clean with a beautiful view of the harbour. It was very central to everything and there was even a lift to the first floor for our luggage. Our host Francesco went out of his way to help us and make recommendations which made our stay so much more enjoyable and saved us money too. We had a few difficult requests that he handled no problem. I can't speak more highly of Francesco and the accommodation.
