Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

LithuaniaFor some light sleepers, it can be a real challenge to sleep right in front of a market, where each morning sellers are setting up and making loads of noise. It's really a basic need to have a lamp by your bed. In a 6 bed dorm, there was no such option. Not very comfortable.

ItalyEmerald palace was one of the only places with late check-in, so if you take a late flight... it's almost impossible. My flight was delayed so I arrived even later but the staff were super accommodating and friendly. I had a female dorm which was huge with a bathroom and real beds... extremely central as well.

New ZealandIt would be nice if they some couches or comfy chairs to relax in the lounge area, not just the hard chairs in the dining area and the roof top. More plugs in bed rooms for all people staying in there.
The location was amazing. Close to train station and all major attractions within easy walking distance. Staff went above and beyond to be helpful and make you feel comfortable. Really enjoyed the outdoor area. Bed was comfortable.

I was really surprised when I arrived. Staying in a charming, old building with Renaissance-style architecture was beyond my expectations. The check-in lady was very kind and spent a lot of time showing me the sightseeing spots on a map. The place was clean and fully equipped with all the necessary facilities. There was a cozy terrace, and the location was perfect

United KingdomBring earplugs as it’s pretty noisy. Be aware the pictures clearly show twin beds in the rooms so there’s very little privacy; what you see is what you get. The guys at reception could tone it down with younger female travellers. They seem harmless but at their age I might have been uncomfortable with the level of interest.
Fantastic location right in the heart of Florence. Easy access to all the attractions, train station, tons of restaurants etc. Cleaning staff do a great job. Felt like a good value for Florence.

BrazilThe city tax must be paid in cash, I haven't noticed that when I arrived. Usually, in Italy, I paid with my credit card. Also, be aware there are long and high stairs in the building, in order to get to Emerald Palace and your room.
The Suite with City View is very big, with a nice view to the Basilica de San Lorenzo. Windows are huge, bathroom is very good too. It's silent and could fit a whole family in it. The young asian girl at the reception was very helpful with tips about the city and a suggestion of itinerary in Firenze. The staff overall was nice. Also, very close to the market -- a good option for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
