Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe bed wasn't very comfortable, it was a long walk to the room, the breakfast was fairly average and there weren't many restaurants in the area (we can highly recommend Tram Tram though!). Also, the powerponts seemed strange (we are from Australia and using adaptors) and our devices sometimes didn't charge properly or quickly, and our adaptors ran pretty hot to the touch.
The room was large, the roof top balcony was large and had great views, and was not much used by other guests. Free breakfast was good to have, and the location was good for Rome's sights.. The staff were all really nice.

United StatesIt's far from Rome city centre. You have to walk and take the train or bus to the attractions. There's no ramp for big luggages going up and down the stairs
The place is nice and quiet

IsraelNo minibar. The toilet is with the bath cabin, but the mirror and sink are outside the room, with is odd. The breakfast is very poor. No vegetables, no eggs. It is being served piece by piece. You have to ask for a piece of bread (or two), and cheese. There are also some cake or cruasson and yoghurt. And coffee or juice. And if you are lucky, you can get an apple. But you need to ask for it. The building is very old but it has an elevator. It goes slow, but shakes when it starts and ends, which is kind of scary.
Location is Ok, it is not in the center, but relatively close to metro (700m). Nice walking park on the way to the metro. A booth with a free cold and sparkling water near the hotel. We asked to check out late and they agreed to let us use the room until 18:00 for extra charge. This was very helpful. The room was huge, but the furniture very old. There were scratches on the walls. Air conditioner was very good, facilities Ok. A nice terrace on the roof for breakfast (we also went there in the evening to sit down and relax). A safe in the room.

United StatesOur quadruple room was by the yard ,men drilling woke us up at 9 am the second day ,the people across the room were pretty loud after 11 pm which surprised us considering it used to be an ancient monastery .There were ants crawling in the room that managed there way through the screened in window and even got in my purse. There were homeless people hanging out not to far from our room which was just to the right of the entrance .During the day I was on the bed watching TV and some one attempted to open the door .The place gave me the creeps.
I liked the basilica right next to our room,I didn't even have to leave the premises to go to a beautiful place of worship. The roof top terrace had an awesome view while eating breakfast. Watch out if you leave the table with food on your plate ,I ran to get more napkins and a pigeon got my croissant.I went to get a new one and he acted like it was GOLD and reluctantly gave me a replacement.

New ZealandIt was lovely to have a drink on our balcony and on the rooftop terrace. It would have been nice to have a glass in the room and not just paper cups. We managed to get some plastic cups but were unable to buy any glasses.
Location, staff were great. Nice to have breakfast included. We asked if we could change rooms as we were there for 4 nights and we heard that some rooms had a balcony. A room was found for us and for a small supplement we were able to move rooms.

United KingdomAir conditioning was good but the room was huge so didn't reach where the bed was. The toilet seat was broken. It would have been amazing if there was a mini fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. Most people I presume choose this hotel for the location; with a fridge to put cold drinks in and a kettle would go a long way.
Location is superb for all of the top city attractions. There is a mini supermarket only 5 mins away. Beautiful building and breakfast included was more than adequate. Cereal, yoghurt, tea coffee cold juice or water, breads meat cheese, cakes deffo something for everyone.

RomaniaWe saw bugs inside the bathroom, mould inside shower. Mattress was old and inconfortable. And every night people use to change the places of the chairs situated on the rooftop of the buliding, which annoyed us. Breakfast was the same everyday, they served us, no eggs, only fast food menu.
I liked the fact that the accomodation was close to metro station. AC was working well.

United KingdomSelf service at breakfast would have been better. Understand the reasons for staff handing out breakfast to avoid overeating but it is a bit demeaning. Food choice at breakfast was limited and could have been better

United StatesIt could have been closer to the metro and could’ve added more soap and shampoo, but mostly good.
We liked how it was located around historical sites and how our rooms were always nicely neat. The room service was also very good, though we didn’t always get the same amount of shampoo per day.

United KingdomWe stayed here 15 years ago and the hotel is not as good as we remembered. The bathroom was very dated and hot water took a very long time to come through in the shower which is a huge waste of water. The breakfast is much more basic than it used to be and it's a pain to have to keep queuing to ask for another pastry or another cup of tea/coffee. It's nice to be able to eat it on the terrace though. The rooms are very simple but that is reflected in the price - you get what you pay for and it's central Rome after all!
Quiet location away from the centre but still near to metro. Nice roof terrace. Most of the staff we met were friendly with one exception.
