Beautiful renovated old monastery close to Lecce

    • King Room with Balcony
    • Stayed 3 nights

Location is nice but could have been a bit closer to the city center but parking was not a problem in the city. The breakfast/dining area has not much atmosphere.

We booked a room with terrace which was really nice. You could sit in the sunshine all day. Unfortunately we had a neighbour who thought it was a shared terrace so we had to ask him to leave. Beautiful old Monastery, beautiful furniture and decorations. Nice pool although it was not heated. Breakfast is amazing. Free parking on the street.

Great place to stay - but try to avoid coinciding with a wedding

    • Stayed 2 nights

The wedding guests took over all the facilities so it did feel like you were intruding and we didn’t get to use the pool. It’s a bit of a walk to the town center but the hotel is worth it.

Lovely facilities, everything was so spacious. There was a wedding on so we were put in a room that was away from the noise which was great but meant we didn’t have a balcony. On our second night we were lucky enough to be there when the hotel was used for the venue of a candlelight concert as well so we were able to attend that at no cost which was a real treat. The breakfast had plenty of variety - best scrambled eggs and cuppacino! The staff were fabulous and so helpful.

air conditioning a bit weak and slow for hot summer days in puglia as it’s an ancient convent, the hotel is not close to city center, the hotel offers shuttle transfers to the city , these however , are not very frequent

the hotel is gorgeous! very beautiful old building combined with tasteful design elements fantastic breakfast. very tasty with lots of excellent home made products and the best “pasticiotti” in Lecce

    Amazing hotel, diluted juices.

There was at least one juice every day that was diluted to be water like and undrinkable. So the 100% Orange juice, as well, I was very disappointed with. They weren't even mixed up just half bottle water half juice. Two phases on each other.

It was like in a fairy tale. Sceptic but it was better than expected. They need more, better and more talkative photos on the beauty inside. Outside beautiful stylish pool, South Italian heat, many hundred years old scoarching sun drenched cloister walls telling stories on the past, Mediterranean flora and fauna, inside pleasant, cool, air-conditioned air filled up with luxury Culti Milano scent, large spaces, freskoes, corners and spots of fine furniture both antique looking or modern and stylish. Mystical crypt/chapel the location of old miracles. Matresses and bedding is high quality too, far the best in hotels. I loved the mini Culti Milano bathroom stuff like shower gel. Room furniture was pretty, well made, and like new. Cleaning was during the breakfast so we were never disturbed. Receptionists were very kind and helpful.

No on-site parking, but decent public options nearby. A little way out from the historic centre, but free shuttle available each evening.

Beautiful historic building, which has been brought up to date and provides an excellent service. Excellent restaurant. Staff on front desk, at breakfast and in the restaurant gave superb service and really made us feel special. Nice pool area. The cental courtyard is a beautiful space used for events, but is set up for guests to use with seating and tables- was a bit hot for us to sit out in the July heat. Free shuttle to and from historic centre of Lecce each day which can be pre booked. Breakfast selection was excellent and staff in the breakfast area were friendly and attentive. We dined in the restaurant twice and thoroughly enjoyed what was on offer, cuisine was adventurous and staff were passionate about what they were serving. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. Good bathroom. Good air conditioning which made us very comfortable even in the heat of July (38-39°C). Parking options available nearby

It may have just been our room but the AC never really worked that strong so it was a bit hot at night. There were some parties at night in the event courtyard so it was a bit loud but not too bad. I’d love to come again!

    Noisy air conditioning.

The property is amazing! Converted to cater for 18 rooms (and large outdoor space for events. All tastefully decorated. The star really is the team who work here. Nothing is too much trouble and they are all so welcoming and helpful. The Hotel does hold events (weddings etc) here so be warned that some are loud. Personally I really liked this but appreciate it may not be for all (they didn’t go on that late either. Our room was well equipped and spacious although the air conditioning was a little loud. Overall. I would love to return as we had such a special time here.

During weekends hotels inner yard is popular to use for parties, so might double check if nothing is happening during your stay as it might get a bit noisy for sensitive and eraly sleepers

Beautiful property, large rooms, lovely swimming pool and extremely friendly and helpfull staff. As hotel is a bit far from city center, hotel provides free shuttle bus service that you can use. Had a very lovely stay here, choose this hotel with no doubts!

    Proximity to town

This was a beautiful, majestic property. The staff were excellent, especially the three ladies on reception (Sara's is the only name I have). They booked cars for us, found out about facilities in other cities and generally helped. Lecce is a busy city and this hotel and its vast grounds were just outside it. You could walk into the city, but it was fairly long. However, there was a shuttle car in for evening meals etc if you wanted it. Breakfast was very good with hot and cold food. Restaurant service was either light meals (very good and a lovely bar) or fine dining on certain days, which we did not have. Swimming pool looked inviting but it was still too cold for me in May

It was cold the couple of days we stayed, the weather was chilly and windy. Being an ancient historic building with superbly high-vaulted ceilings, it can be cold in the room, but we were provided with thick comforter the next night. Can’t say we don’t like the property, it’s a trade-off between cold and an unimaginably unique experience. We vote for this special experience!

Surrounded by history, art - many art pieces hung on the ancient walls. Everywhere our eyes enjoy the visual beauty; the cloister was quiet as a cloister should be. We walked from hall to hall, it is hallowed grounds. Magnificent. We love every minute spent in this hotel.
