Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We’re currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil, and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CyprusI think each room should have a booklet about the history of the castle and a small guide to it. That would be great!
This is a wonderful hotel in a medieval castle. If you are a history buff you simply must stay here to touch the past a little. Nice rooms, excellent service, delicious dinner in the restaurant.

SwitzerlandArriving at the castle was not easy, there were no signs in town and GPS provided bad directions to a private road.
It was more amazing than expected. The castle was authentic feeling, with everything getting like it was truly a medieval castle

United KingdomThis was a repeat visit to the Castello and it did not disappoint. Incredible architecture, which is a visual feast to enjoy. Restaurant is top standard with silver service. We were the only guests on this particular night and breakfast was still provided plentiful and fresh. Staff are efficient, polite and very helpful.

United States of AmericaStaying in a castle from the 900's is magical. Of course, it has been renovated with all modern conveniences. The meal we had the castello restaurant was the most memorable of our trip. Don't miss the free afternoon tour of the castello with Sebastiano - his enthusiasm is contagious and he is a wealth of knowledge. Great breakfasts too.

United KingdomThe air conditioning in our ( standard) room was on but did not appear to be cooling the room down. The bathroom might benefit from an upgrade ( but then I guess this unique accommodation would cost a lot more).
It was really atmospheric here and the dining experience felt very special. We loved the decor. The staff were all friendly and helpful.

RussiaNever met such a disrespectful welcome through all of my life. Let’s go point to point 1. Parking is downstairs of the castle. You supposed to climb all of your stuff, your child, and your mother at her 70s. They provide help with male stuff, but 2. We were waiting around an hour for the stuff to help with the bags. We decided to take this time and explore the castle but 3. During the check in you will find out that your standard rooms will not be on the main building, because “you have booked in on booking.com”. So you go on, pay extra and finding out that only part you will actually see is the restraunt and your own rooms. Nothing else about the castle, only exterior part. You will start to find an opportunity to look out for more, maybe to know more about the castle, and you will only hear that that have some packages on their web site where you have a guided tour as well, but of course, it is not availabale because we booked it with a booking.com. Was curious about it later and checked out their official web page - as medieval as the castle is. And the most incredible part was 5. The unnamed receptionist. We were met with the one with semi blond hair. She was the one who was telling us all this castles rules and we were trying to discuss our opportunities about the castle, but 6. Then she came. The full-bodied lady with glasses and fair-haired, which interrupted our discussion, told us “we have answered all your questions, take a sit and wait for the check-in”. When I asked her name, this worker of the facility told me she will not answer me and it is a private information. I honestly told her I wanted to use it for the review, because I was shocked that somebody can behave the way she does. To sum it up - you will see almost nothing inside, the receptions will be rude with you and you will leave this castle with 0 information about it. Sad that the people working here will leave bad memories about this beautiful place, that truly deserves more glory
Restaurant stuff is well trained and serving with respect. Food was tasty, but pretty regular choice of dishes. Deserts were very good. Also, breakfast was not huge but was served good

AustraliaWe were very disappointed in our room and the lack of hotel facilities - both fell well short of the description provided on booking.com. We booked a room described as 25sqm with air conditioning, a sofa and table, soundproofing and a view - all of which were important to us. our room was 15sqm at best plus a bathroom. It was dark, had no sofa, no table and no window or view - just a door onto a small balcony shared with 2 other rooms. The room was quite warm and there was air conditioning but we were told it could not be turned on due to government regulations. We opened the door to let in fresh air, but in came the mosquitoes and we could not leave it open for security reasons. After a long hot night I asked for a fan and after much haggling one was provided - much better. Our room was not in the main castle building, but in an annexe above reception and next to the bell tower. The bell rings very, very loudly from 9 am to 9 pmon the hour, so if you want an afternoon nap or an early night, don’t stay near the bell tower - it will more than wake you! As for the hotel facilities, the description included a guest lounge, a bar, games room and room service - these did not exist. The hotel has a stunning courtyard which would be perfect for an aperativo - alas, not an option. A few days before we arrived we were advised that the restaurant would not be available on the night of our arrival due to a group booking - no alternative at the hotel was offered - surely a table in the lovely courtyard could have been arranged. Beware of weddings or large group bookings as this may compromise your stay. My issue here is that we did not get what was described and what informed our choice of this hotel - properties must take more care to be accurate in their descriptions.
If you have ever wanted to stay in an authentic castle then this is a fabulous choice - a magnificent property that feels very special and is filled with lovely furnishings and delightful details. The gardens are beautiful and the restaurant is very good - wonderful atmosphere.
