Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNothing - only thing to be mindful of is that the accomodation is very high up and you will need to rely on the bus or taxi, which is fine if you plan ahead and are not in a rush😀 Teresa is very helpful in giving you options.
Everything - the room is immaculately clean and we had so much space! A gorgeous view from our huge balcony and plenty of shared spaces around the accommodation that we often had to ourselves 😀

Great location on the hill, just beneat the Montepertuso with beautifull view to Positano. We loved Teressas house. A evening glass of vine on quiet garden with Positano in lights is unbeatable! Easy to commute to city. Approx 15minutes downstairs, Bus station only 2min walk (15min drive to city) and scooter rental 5min. 10min walk to restaurant Il Ritrovo and and 10 drive or 30min walk to La Tagliata. One of the most famous restaraunts with magnificient view. I do recomend to rent scooter from neighbour Alberto. Very convinient way of traveling and parking. The experience to drive the scooter in this coast line is lifetime experience. Teressa and her husband very nice and helpfull person. We would live to return to ther appartment somwhere in future.

United StatesEverything was amazing. Teresa and her husband were wonderful. They were really easy to get in contact with, they answered and helped us anytime we asked them. Their property is breathtaking. My husband and I went to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and it really exceeded our expectations. The room was great, very roomie! It had a wonderful private patio where you can see the town of Positano. The best thing, was their sweet dog, Fluffy! I love animals and she was very sweet and would let me pet/hold her for hours if I let her :). MUST stay if you get a chance!!

United StatesNothing!
Absolutely stunning view of Positano. The actual suite itself was wonderful too! The location is a bit further up than we expected, but the bus that takes you up and down is pretty easy and convenient to use. There is a stop right outside the B&B and majority of people staying in Positano use the bus to get around. I actually really enjoyed our location because it allowed for a better view of the city and felt more private. We took the stairs down to the city center a couple times and it was a nice little hike with a great view!

United Kingdomlocation wasn’t a problem for us but it could be if you are not good with stairs
Casa Monticello is a beautiful B&B set up the mountain from Positano. Teresa and Fabrizio are fantastic hosts and welcomed us. The apartment was kitted out really well with everything you could want for your stay and had a private balcony to enjoy the warm weather on. My only note of caution would be that if you are not very mobile it would be tough going as it’s quite a way to the centre of Positano. There are local buses to take you, or if you want to increase your fitness you can do the stairs but it’s a climb. This all added to the peace and the view was exceptional. I would highly recommended this place

AustraliaThe property is a little bit from the town centre, which is good as it is nice and quiet. Not a negative about the property, however the buses only come once an hour and sometimes are already full when they get to the stop outside the apartment, so it can be a little hard to get back and forth to the town centre and accommodation.
the staff were amazing and the apartment was a good size with a lovely view. it was quiet and a short walk to a few restaurants and grocery shop up the road. there were many areas outside of the apartment to relax including a shared patio with lounge chairs and a relaxing area in the shade with grass and trees. the apartment was very comfortable. Teresa went out of her way to help organise transfers for us to and from other accommodation. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Monticello!

United KingdomLocation is good….if you don’t plan on heading down to the beach every day. It’s a short bus ride (20 mins) but they only come once an hour, which makes it sometimes difficult to plan meals or other excursions. Otherwise everything is great. It’s nice and clean, the bed is comfortable, the balcony is perfect with the sun loungers and the hosts are extremely helpful.
The hosts are great, they gave us all the information we needed upon arrival - like bus times and routes. The apartment itself is really nice, clean and spacious with a lovely balcony. Everything you’d need is provided to make the stay comfortable. The bed is super comfortable and there’s air conditioning in the bedroom and living area, which was definitely needed as it was boiling hot all week. Finally…. the cute little dog called Fluffy!

United KingdomWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this picturesque location, and here’s why: Casa Monticello is set in the hills of Positano and provided a great view from the balcony. Seeing the low lying cloud amongst the hills was a great morning view; equally was looking down at the town of Positano in the evening when it was lit up! A magical sight! It’s a short walk from the steps down in to the centre. If you are coming to Positano you have to give this walk a try! Not only will you appreciate the views but you’ll feel fitter for doing it. The hosts and owners of Casa Monticello are brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble, and they made us feel welcome immediately. Teresa showed us where to go and what to look out for, answering any questions we had. Her information was invaluable and improved our trip no end. We would absolutely recommend Casa Monticello for anyone wishing to visit Positano; you will not be disappointed.

MaltaPlates and glasses are surely not checked after every departure as we found them dirty ...seems that previous guests did not wash them well! Casa Monticello is 10 minutes by car away from the centre of Positano and hundreds of steps away by walk. On arrival we were not told that the bus that passes nearby is always full and you never manage to get on it besides that it passes every hour! To go down to the centre by taxi costs minimum 40 euros and when Teresa managed to find one for us it was 50 euros! We were not told that a transfer to the airport has to be booked days before so we risked loosing our flight since we found no taxis available and no help from the premises. A big thankyou to the only taxi man we found at the centre who gave us good advice how to arrive at the airport.
The view from the room was amazing. Teresa, the owner, is really responsive with messages and room was clean overall. The apartment was equipped with all basic necessities.
