Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomThe air-con kept the bedrooms cool (though very noisy, had to use ear buds to sleep). No air-con in living area made it very uncomfortable to relax there. Leaving bedroom doors open helped to cool it slightly. Too many delicate ornaments everywhere and worry about accidentally damaging them.
Fantastic location, close to tourist attractions and transport links but far enough to be nice and quiet and to feel like we were living with local Venetians. Very clean home with a well-equipped kitchen, had everything we needed. Comfortable beds and seating. Stylish decor.

United StatesThere were AC units in the bedrooms, but not in the living area. A fan was provided and this worked out for our group.
The AC worked well and was need in the summer in Venice. The decorations were nice and made the apartment feel like home. Enzo was very generous with welcome drinks, snacks, and coffee. The washing machine worked well. The neighborhood was nice and quiet and close to the water bus stop.

United StatesWe didn’t use the AC because we were literally leaving when we realized it wasn’t plugged in. That was our fault (LOL as the kids say).
The apartment made you feel like a Venetian. Enzo was amazing - such a gracious host. We had friends who stayed in an apartment a couple of streets who were amazed at how well he took care of us (their experience didn’t compare). Truly amazing!

United States1. American travelers need to be reminded that our third floor is Europe’s second floor. That means a two story walk up to the apartment, not one. 2. The beds are in bad shape. The bed to the left as you enter has an almost broken mattress. The other mattress is ridged at the jointer of,apparently, two mattresses. Sleeping comfortably is a key requirement. 3. The number of written warnings pasted to the walls is excessive. 4 The shower screen is not easy and the splash of water into the bathroom is undesirable. 5 if these problems were addressed it would be a five star property.
Location and charm. Good air conditioning. Quiet. The owner is an excellent host over wifi and e-mail.

IrelandMaybe I didn't read the small print but the apartment was on the 2nd floor with no lift and as we were 2 ladies in our middle age travelling with large suitcases at the end of a 3 week med trip, the 2nd floor was difficult for us.

perfect communication and interaction prior and during the stay. The host (Enzo) really took care that our arrival and our time at the flat works out fine. Great location in terms of the neighbourhood (restaurants, bars, shops) but also - that's why we booked it - for a visit at the Biennale (hence the name). It was a pleasure to stay in this well-equipped (thanks for the coffee!) and super clean flat (the photos really match the experience). One can see and enjoy that the owner takes care of it! Looking forward to booking it again for the next Biennale visit!

ItalyWe like it that he met us at the ferry stop. He explained various things about the apartment. It was very clean and close to everything if you like to walk. We were about 30 min waking distance from San Marco. The Arsenale is next to the Biennale. We had a wonderful stay. Also you need to put in consideration, that this is Italy. Old buildings do not have elevators. However is only two floors. We had not problem going up and down in particular after the amazing dinners.
