Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The host was very helpful and friendly, the room was lovely - very clean and well maintained. The location was fantastic, walking distance to the Circus Maximus and the Colloseum, and several great restaurants. We stayed for our honeymoon and couldn't fault it. If I ever go back to Rome, I would certainly stay here again.

United KingdomGreeting at reception was super friendly. The coffee machine in the lobby was complimentary which was very much appreciated. Location location location! Just a 10 minute walk to the colloseum and Roman forum. Trastevere was just a 20 mins walk, such a lovely area with lots of good restaurants and bars!

The Aventino Guest House was s lovely accommodation in a great location in Rome. There were plenty of charming restaurants nearby, not to mention the Colosseum and forum. The guest house itself was well stocked with facilities - very modern en-suite bathrooms with air conditioning built into the rooms. There was a breakfast area kitchenette complete with a coffee machine, and having a coffee out on the balcony was a great start to any day. The rooms were spacious, clean and well maintained! can’t recommend it enough.

CanadaThe location was perfect, quiet neighbourhood with everything within walking distance. Colosseum is 900 meters away. What made our experience great was the communication with the gentleman in charge. Checking in was smooth and quick. On the day of our departure there was a taxi strike and we had a flight to catch. The staff member made countless calls to taxi companies and left his desk to stand outside on the street with us to insure we got a ride. If it weren't for him we would have missed our flight. We are forever grateful to this man.

Very friendly people at the property, helpful and the rest of the time you are left to be a grown up and use your initiative. Very enjoyable stay in a relatively quiet residential area, near to restaurants and with a short walk near to most of what Rome has to offer.

The place is located in a residential area, calm, with good restaurants and supermarket nearby. Despite of that, it is very easy to get to the main touristic spots, such as Palatine hill or Colosseum by walk. The staff is very supportive and willing to provide all the information needed. Although the breakfast was not included, they kindly provided croissant and coffee.

Location is exceptional. Only 1 km from Colosseum. Residential area with beautiful villas. Great connection with public transport. No breakfast at the property, since it is not apartment, it is a room with private bathroom. Very clean and cosy place to stay.

United KingdomStaff were so friendly, with regular messages answering all questions before we got there to showing us around the facility and being very helpful. Lovely room which smelt beautiful and clean. All facilities in kitchen including coffee machine are able to be used and a nice balcony area to sit at aswell. it is fantastic for location about 20mins walk from colosseum and 5 mins walk from the metro. I would recommend this to everyone and will definitely be staying here again

United StatesThe shower has no water pressure and it was lukewarm. The location was loud at night from the trains. It was also sort of a hassle to open the gate and 3 locked doors to get in and out of the room.
The bed was comfortable and there was a bidet in the bathroom. The location was convenient to the metro and restaurants. The room was clean.

Excellent location (especially if you're visiting UN FAO) with plenty of good bars and restaurants and bars nearby. The room was small but with a comfortable bed and expresso machine. Bathroom was fine. The host was very friendly and helpful.
