Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomParking was difficult, some prior info would be useful, but parking was near to the property, but you have to park BEFORE you walk into the nearby premises. We were unhappy about a view of scaffolding from our balcony. It wasn't noisy but it should be mentioned in description. Pool was beautiful but a little cold.
Interior was beautiful. Location was excellent. Lovely background music made a relaxing environment. The receptionist very kindly posted a handbag I left behind to my address in Italy. Bathrobes were TINY, which is very unusual and fitted perfectly. As a petite lady, they usually drown me. I wish I could buy one.

United StatesDIDN’’T LIKE: After suffering through most of the night being kept awake by loud, live music which we assumed was coming from a nearby bar, we learned the next morning that the hotel had been hosting a “special event” in the downstairs restaurant! We assume the owners think of their guests as a secondary consideration.
Unfortunately, we were booked at their nearby property, Palazzo Flora, which had no sign or any markings that identified it as a hotel. The street intercom at the address provided no response from anyone. We were told by someone on the street that the Flora owners also had another hotel up the street. We called that hotel and were told that Flora had a problem that couldn’t be repaired by the time of our arrival, so we would be staying at Palazzo Presta which we had no knowledge of. Staff had tried to reach us via WhatsApp but it was too late in our drive there for us to have seen it. Palazzo Presta is a nice hotel with a rooftop terrace bar which wasn’t open in March but was available for viewing the rooftops of the small city of Gallipoli. Our room, “Marakesh,” was exotic, dramatic and dark. The darkness could not be brightened. The glass shower was across an open space from the bathroom, so guests in this room had better be on intimate terms. Breakfast was served, at an additional price, in the hotel restaurant with a “one of these, two of those” kind of menu. Both food, coffee and service were very good although expensive for breakfast. Outside of the hotel, nearby Martinucci is an excellent breakfast alternative where at least one savory item is offered along with pastries and great coffee. It’s important to mention that the staff were exceptional in their service and desire to help you in any way possible. When we found the three “officially recommended” restaurants to be not what we wanted, a staffer recommended the very close-by Navicula, which was such a fantastic casual seafood place that we ate there on two consecutive nights. LIKED: Staff. A group of sweet young ladies.

AustraliaWe did not stay at Palazzo Flora but were moved to another partner hotel, Palazzo Presta close by. Palazzo Flora was still under going renovations. Whilst we were happy with our room and the staff were lovely and location similar, it was obvious they knew that the Palazzo Flora was not going to be operational so should have revealed that to us when booking. I have read through reviews that this isn't uncommon ( to book Flora but be moved to Presta)
Great location, one of the rooms that our group was allocated was absolutely magnificent -the furnishings, space etc. Other room incredibly spacious and nice furnishings but quite dark. Fine for one night. Staff were friendly and breakfast was very good.

United KingdomNothing - it was a perfect holiday retreat.
Palazzo Flora was undergoing renovations so we were upgraded to a junior suite with terrace at the nearby Palazzo Presta owned by the same hotel group. Our stay was amazing. We really enjoyed our private outdoor terrace. Our room was beautifully designed and super clean with quality furnishings and decoration. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Our morning breakfast was delicious. The location of Palazzo Presta was in the old town just a few minutes from the beach with wonderful sea views. We highly recommend this hotel.
