Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicWe really loved our stay at CHARMING HIDEWAY! The room was cosy and nice and the outside space with a kitchen was incredible. We can 100% recommend it. The only "missing" thing that would be nice to have is a washing machine. But it's nothing a bit of detergent and a full sink could not solve :) Thank you!

United KingdomThe barrier in the middle of the road made us turn and get on the street on the other side of the road The walls were quite thin and we could hear when the other guests were taking a shower.
Nice quiet place, typical Italian holiday house with olive trees in the garden, ideal for travelling by car because it had gated private parking It had a nice communal terrace where you could enjoy the tea/coffee provided. We were welcomed by a friendly cat while we stayed on the terrace to enjoy our coffee.

PolandWe had amazing stay at Charming Hideway! This property is located in the olive garden thanks to which you can feel really close to nature and rest. I loved the fact that we could pick up fruit and vegetables from the garden and cook delicious meal of it. Kitchen is situated in the garden, and it's only one kitchen per 4 four rooms, however we haven't experienced any problems with that, each room has its own fridge. Our room had kinda small window, however was overally well equipped. Alghero is 2km from the property, but there are bikes available to rent for free. Check in/out is contactless. Highly recommended especially if you are nature lover!

HungaryIf you do not have your own way of transport it is a bit too far from the city centre, the closest supermarket is 1 km away, also the closest bus stop is almost 1 km away. The roads leading up to the apartment do not have lights, so travelling by bicycles or just walking is a bit uncomfortable at night. The bathroom and especially the shower is small.
There are 2 bikes and a fridge for each room. Rooms have air conditioning. There is a common kitchen where you can find everything you might need. Towels are changed regularly. We were allowed to leave our bags at the apartment and use the bicycles till we spent the day in the city after we checked out. There are 2 beach mats and a parasol umbrella in the room.

SlovakiaWe liked everything, maybe except the small window in the door in room, which was the only one. There were wet air in the room in the spring- at night(low temperature outside, hotter inside). But we understand the small little window must be the advantage in the summer. So we have to come in the summer. :D
garden, nice surroudings with olive trees, outdoor kitchen, clean room, comfy outside sitting, possibility to use bicycles, helpful staff, quiet place for relax, clear information about stay and self check. Ideal place to get rid of tension and stress.

UkraineAll the dishes for kitchen were just outside on the table and were covered with dust. Also when taking a shower the light was dissapearing. Wifi was not the best. The door for the shower was a bit broken, so we needed to clean the floor all the time.

PolandShower cabin and bathroom is rather small and there is paint instead of tiles but we understand it is the host's choice and it is more of a camping style place rather than a family house and that's how it was all designed.
Nice location if you have a car. Located just out of Alghero suburbs in the garden/villas area. Situated in the Olives garden which gave a nice shade. Quiet and relaxing place. Outside kitchen under the roof. Little terrace with sofas on the outside. Sunbed seats and bikes available for guests. Nice and helpful host. House rules are clearly stated and hung in each room.

Poland1. The photos of the apparment are true but in the reality you realise that in the appartment you can't find any window. The only sunligt cames through the open doors and if the doors are closed (f.e. because of the airconditioning working or noises from the garden like hydrophore) there is no sunlight in the room and the lights you can see on the photo are brought in only to make this photo and in the reality there is not enought light in the room. 2. There is a small monitor on the wall but we wasn't able to switch the TV on it. Maybe it works... 3. Only when you arrive at the appartment you can read on the yellow page on the wall the house rules. Breaking the rules cost from 15 to 50 Euros. This rules were not to read while I have booked the room on booking. In the mail you receive after booking they let you only know that that are house rules. 4. The shower is really small. 5. There is forbidden to eat in the room (house rules).
1. The open kitchen but in the night different big animals are coming and looking for food in the garbage cans. So you can be surprised in the morning when you have to make every rubbish in the right garbage can again because if not you can be charged with fee according to house rules that you find in the apartment when you arrive 2. Free bikes but you can be charged with fee again when enouther guest will take bike with numbers of your appartment and make demage because according to house rules you are responsible for the bikes with your appartment numbers. Every damage will be panished with penalty of 50 Euros.
