+++ Comfy retreat from the city. Hammock and all. +++ Breakfast, staff Of course there are animals and some critters in the "farmland" type of ecosystem where the inn is. Maybe a little chilly in the night. Drive is actually NOT bad with sedan type of car as long as there is not much incoming traffic. Refrigerator/water kettle in the room would be nice add-on.

We stayed at a house at the bottom of the hill and the more distance from the goats house the better. But we could see it had been shielded and everything was sparkling clean.

Dario, partner and the rest of the staff are fantastic, very attentive and genuinely kind, knowledgeable about local attractions and walks. The facilities are being very well kept, good rooms and various parking area. The restaurant was excellent for dinner, open every evening, we ate there several times, lots of freshly prepared food, local ingredients including various game and others. The menu had 6 or more specials and was gradually changing. The house wine including prosecco and other drinks were great. Everything was very reasonably priced. Breakfast had a lot of choice, machines for coffees, teas, cooked eggs, cereals, various breads, pastries, cakes, fruit, yogurts. The eating area was very well decorated and pleasant. The winding road access up the mountain was better than we expected, the road is kept in very good shape.

I only took off some points because of the narrow, steep access road, and the steep "climb" from the lower guesthouse to the main building/restaurant. I am a hiker, but for some people, it can be a bit difficult, and I believe guests should be notified beforehand.

All was very good.

The owers were nice and accomodating. There are 2 dogs, countless cats and some donkeys in the proprerty which add some fun to the setting. Its possible to have dinner there, and I recomend. Good home made food whith house wine made us feel very confortable and welcoming. The breakfast was very good as well with some fresh scrambles eggs. Top service! I'd stay there again for sure!

The facility had a few bugs unfortunately. The location is a pain if you have a bigger car. And there is no fridge or kettle.

La Fonte di Mariella is a very nice Agriturismo place up far up on the hill, but very quiet, pieceful and located in the middle of the beautiful nature, surrounded by chestnut trees. The owner is very nice, friendly and helpful. It is also very nice to go for walks/hiks and do other outdoor sports up there, like e-mountainbiking. The room was very clean and comfortable with a nice place to sit outside and enjoy the wonderful autumn day. The food was great (dinner and breakfast). We were offered a dinner menu for an affordable price with plenty of food and four courses. There are also cats (even with small kiddens, awww) to play with and two donkeys. The owner sells very tasty honey directly harvested from his bees at his place with different flavors (i.e. from chestnut trees). We liked very much to stay there and will always come back again in the future to calm down in the nature for a few days.

very good a la carte food, try the 3 fishes as a starter, fabulous. The bedroom is at a 3 minutes walk, not in the mainhouse, which we preferred, because more quiet and nice little walk. Small bedroom with balcony, we slept very well. We bought some homemade honey, miam! We'd love to come back!

We wanted to go to the spa what wasnt working(my kids were sad because of that). The forniture needs a refresh and the bed was really noisy. The way to the hotel is like a ralley.

It could have been a bit cleaner (on the bathroom ceilings was plenty of spider-webs), and a bit more careful with the breakfast (the bread was brought up every time after we sat to the table, when the host saw, eventually, us (even though it was a buffet-like breakfast, and the bread slices were... not freshly cut). And the internet worked poorly, the network wasn't visible many times and in late-night we lost the internet connection for good until next morning.

Very nice location high above the lake Como. Silence, fresh air, birds singing, big room, nice bathroom, everything (including the dining room) very spacious, pretty close to the lake and with stunning sightseeing over the mountains, and over the lake Como (from the descending road towards the lake).

It's a place difficult to reach out very high in the forest. Once we arrived we didn't want to go near the lake anymore due to the difficult uphill road. Although the fresh air is welcomed especially after a hot day, the humidity from the air is making the room cold and in one of the rooms the sheets were humid. The rooms had basic things ( there is no fridge) One of the other disadvantages of taking a room in the forest is having bugs in the room. Since there is no fridge to place any food you might have, we ended up with ants all over.

It's a remote and quiet place on the country side, I would dare to they that it's in the forest. If you like to see animals and you're a fan of nature and eco stuff you're going to enjoy it. Since it's away from the next house it is quiet and peaceful, you can hear the birds singing. You also have the possibility to have a consistent dinner and local wines if you wish to. The host is welcoming and attentive

After the long drive (approx. 15min) up into the mountain you will be rewarded with unique accommodation. The rooms are clean, the atmosphere under the chestnut trees and the wide view are something very special. In the evenings, the restaurant offers delicious food from the daily changing menu local and seasonal products.

Nice countryside getaway in the lovely mountain village, Dosso del Liro, from the busy towns around Lake Como. Best place to stay for hikers. You can hike to Monte Piaghedo and get stunning views of Lake Como. Narrow serpentine roads lead you to the farmhouse for 20minutes by car from the lake. Some rooms are accesible with stairs. Parking spaces on the road also available. Clean rooms. Good food. Good wine. Very welcoming staff.
