Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe location is in the center of Ercolano, convenient to the ruins, but also on a busy, noisy street. Breakfast was decent, but not exceptional.
Exceptional quality room (bed and bathroom), location very close to Herculaneum. Antonio and his daughter, Sula were helpful and pleasant. Our room had a terrace overlooking a busy street, but also Mount Vesuvius!

United Kingdom- the street was a bit noisy but we could sleep well.
- Location ia perfect. A few meters from Herculaneum Archeological Site and close to the Circuvesuviano Station which takes you to the Pompei station. - Antonio and his family is very friendly and helped us a lot. The communication is perfect. My brother left his jacket in the room and Luca (Antonio’ son) took it to the Naples station. - Balcony view: you will have a lovely sunset in the balcony

United StatesMy family and I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel and it was a truly unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was amazing. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our stay was perfect. They helped us rent a car, which was a huge problem for us, we couldn’t have done it without them. And they also gave us recommendations on what to do around the area. The room itself was comfortable and spacious, the bathroom was very nice and clean. One of the highlights of my stay was the breakfast. It was lovely. The owners made us breakfast themselves and the quality of the food was impressive, with pastries, a selection of fruits, eggs, meats, were just a few of the delicious options available. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The owners are extremely nice and friendly and I would go back if I ever return to Italy.

Very good accommodation . Right in the center or Ercolano. Few minutes walk to ruins, train station. Plenty of cafes and small grocery stores around. Staff very nice and helpful. Breakfast was good

SwitzerlandThe walls are thin as you are staying in a house from the 17th century, so on the weekends you hear the noise of the street at night.
Antonio and his wife are exceptional hosts. Everything from the moment of our arrival till check out was perfect. We had a baby cot for our daughter, every morning we could choose our breakfast, the room was clean, beautiful and spacious and the terrasse overlooking the sea fantastic to chill mornings and at night. We got fantastic recommendations for nearby restaurants and Antonio even parked our car in the tiny backyard garage for us. The location is great directly next to the Herculaneum. We would come again!

United StatesThe only challenge we had while staying was Ercolano is a lively town, and our room faced the busy street. Expect road noise late into the night. We played a little music and did fine.
We stayed two nights at 7 Cento Vesuviano in their "Water" suite. We booked because we wanted to be close to the Herculaneum ruins and Mt. Vesuvius. For visiting Herculaneum, this B&B was perfect! Practically next door (you can see 7 Cento Vesuviano's building from inside the ruins). Tour buses for visiting Mt. Vesuvius depart from Ercolano, so that was perfect as well. The train station is a 10 min-ish walk and it can take you to Napoli or South to visit Pompeii. The city of Ercolano feels authentically Italian, and although lively (and noisy) a wonderful experience. Our room was beautiful, and we had a small balcony with a table and chairs, complete with a view of Mt. Vesuvius--hard to beat! Our host, Antonio, was WONDERFUL. He sat us down and helped us with all of our travel plans (made sure we knew where to get buses and trains, and gave advice and ordered us a taxi, etc.). He was extremely kind and hospitable. We've never had a better host in all our travels. He took care of us like family. Breakfast was great. We had delicious pastries, capuccinos, fresh juice, cereals, cake, yogurts, etc

We loved our stay. Antonio is the dream host, he even helped us change the car we had rented as it broke. The property is actually a super well maintained apartment in an old 17th century building, extremely clean, super comfortable bed, nice breakfast, everything one needs for a great stay.

United KingdomThe room smelt a little musty. Also would have been great to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room!
Antonio was a fantastic host. This place is literally a stone throw away from the archeological site of Herculaneum and a short walk from the station. Perfect location! Antonio, our host, was fantastic. He was very hospitable. He was waiting when we arrived, took our breakfast order and recommended some good places for dinner (Rovi round the corner was brilliant!) The place was nice and the bed was really comfy. The room was a nice size with a lovely big shower. The WiFi was strong and there was a mini bar with reasonably priced drinks which was great! Breakfast was nice and held in the kitchen which gave a homely feel. There is also a roof terrace with a really lovely view.

SlovakiaThe breakfast is nice and local but every morning it's the same options which is OK if you are staying one or two nights. We stayed for 6 nights and at the end we got a little fed up with the same breakfast every morning, we would prefere some vegetables.
The staff was very nice and accommodating, location is perfect for visiting Herculaneum ruins and quite close to train station rather to Naples or Pompeii. The bed was nice and firm. We had to use AC during night as the room was facing the street and it's quite busy and noisy during night it was not possible to have the windows open. But in spite of that every night we had a good rest.

7Cento is a very nice B&B in Ercolano. It is next door to Herculaneum. And a 350 m walk to the train station. From there Pompei, Sorrento, Napels, Caserta etc can be easily reached. No car needed. The appartment we had was very spacious. Well fitted out. Everything worked. Very clean. And the host Antonio and his wife are exceptional. They go out of their way to help out with suggestions or helping to arrange travel (for us they arranged a special trip to Capri with taxi pickup, boat trip to Capri and boat trip around Capri). Breakfast is very nice. There is a (shared) balcony to sit outdoors. The building is old (18th century) but the apartments are really up to modern standards
