I would have preferred if the renovation happened at a time when the homestay was not welcoming guests. Also, the mirrors are too short for the average Indian man.

The great view down the valley and how warm Jayashree, our host made us feel. The rooms were cozy and the breakfast tasted very homely. Great place to be with friends.

I liked almost everything, the location is good but it's 15 mins down hill walk to mall road and you get cab any time. Need to just inform the owner they will arrange cab with reasonable price for sightseeing or visiting the mall road.

The rooms were really wonderful, the view was awesome. The attitude of the owner was mind-blowing, they were very humble and assisted us with any kind of assistance required. Price was reasonable for both rooms and food. It was kind of homely atmosphere and did not have any issue travelling with aged people and a 5year kid. Service was really fantastic. All over its a very good homestay with perfect location, price, service, and room condition with perfect decoration and all necessity item required for stay.

The roads to the homestay were slightly steep and narrow, but the taxi drivers managed just fine. It is about 20 mins walk to the Darjeeling station, and 5 mins drive (without traffic). The steep roads were a bit challenging to walk down so wear sturdy shoes so you don't slip, and coming back up walking will require a little bit of stamina. But you can easily get taxis for about 300 rupees to and from the homestay and main center.

Beautiful chalet homestay with balcony offering fantastic views perfect for watching sunsets when it's not too cloudy. Excellent hosts who are a family, making us feel extremely welcomed and at home, offering us Darjeeling teas and biscuits on arrival. Jayashree managed all the communications with us, and was quick on her responses on Whatsapp and helped us sort out a driver for our full day tour around Darjeeling and other spots. Checking in was really easy and convenient, with the hosts warmly welcoming us on our arrival. Jayashree is the best host I've ever made, and she genuinely cared about our stay and did her best to ensure we had a comfortable stay throughout, catering to our requests as best she could (e.g. leaving at 5am on our last day to catch our flight, making us delicious breakfast before we left for our day-trip at 7am, etc.). She is also lovely to chat with, about her family and her hometown. I want to also point out that the breakfast was not only delicious, but had many varieties, consisting tea, eggs, toasts, butter, potato curry, naan bread, and fruits. I had the most wonderful stay at this homestay and can't recommend it enough!

Is a bit away from the mall - about 1.5kms and taxis usually charge INR 300-400 one way.

The property is well equipped and very well maintained. It offers view of the Kanchenjunga range but we were unfortunate as it remained shrouded in clouds for the entire period of our stay. The beds in all the 3 rooms are made super comfortable by the heating pads. The apartment has a nice 6-seater dining table and 2 bathrooms fitted with geysers. The internet is also very reliable and fast. Jayshree is an exceptional host. She goes above and beyond to make her guests comfortable. She arranged for complimentary transfers to the Mall road on our first day. Breakfast was very good and we were given options to choose from. The setup was very homely and Jayshree has also kept some books and games for guests. The Darjeeling railway station is a short walk downhill (about 20 mins). Overall it was a very pleasant stay and we would certainly like to come back and stay for a longer period if possible.

We had a fabulous overnight stay at Ridge View. Jayashree and her team were the perfect hosts. The location has amazing views and is within walking distance of The Mall. And the apartment was spacious and very comfortable, and great value for money. I only wish that we could have stayed longer !

We had a really memorable stay at the Ridge View. Great location about 20 minutes from the centre of town, with the most amazing views of the Himalayas (hint: get up early to enjoy the best views!).
