Because Defence Colony is a fenced out, secured district it’s difficult for taxi drivers to find an open entrance especially at early or late hours of the day. Hence booking a taxi to the airport in an early morning should be done in advance to avoid delays. My taxi driver took extra 20 minutes to find a way in.

The room was clean, nicely decorated, quiet. AC worked well. Wifi was strong. Staff greeted me with hospitality and kindness. The location is excellent, clean and very safe.

Very difficult to find, no sign outside indicating its Colonels Retreat. We mentioned it to the owner, but they seemed indifferent. Rooms are a little tired for the price paid per night. Bed is very very soft.

Convenient location and staff running the place daily were lovely and helped us in many ways. We requested to change our room after the first night (due to some noise issue) and they moved us without an issue. Roof terrace is very peaceful for breakfast in the morning. Lovely chai.

I had a problem getting a taxi at 10.30 pm to come to the hotel on the first night as Defence Colony is a gated community. In the end, I had a short walk to a main road where it was easy to get a taxi.

Naveen and the rest of the staff were extremely helpful during my stay. I was getting some Dental work done locally, and I had some special dietary requirements that they helped me with. The roof terrace is a lovely quiet oasis to have breakfast and dinner at night.

Safe, green neighbourhood (colony). We were arriving late at night (4am), but there was a guard that waited for us and assisted with luggage. As the nights are cold in February, there was a small heater and warm duvet on the bed. Included breakfast was tasty. The staff was nice. Overall, a clean property and the one we would recommend. The market, where restaurants are located, is 10min (safe) walk from the accommodation.

Simply impeccable in every way. Spacious, clean room, everything looks new. Large bathroom, good shower, hot water, large, soft white towels. I was very well attended to from arrival to departure. The hotel is located in a quiet residential neighborhood. The hotel organized my arrival transfer with a very kind gentleman who I hired to take me to see the city.

Nothing! Everything was just excellent. The location is inside a quite gated locality but Delhi being Delhi, there is quite a bit of noise in the morning with construction and cars going by that can't be helped by the property. All this to say that although the property is in one of the nicest locations of South Delhi, there can still be some level of noise expected but you get used to it.

It was the cosiest little place in the heart of Defence colony, decorated with charming art and artifacts from India. Wonderful selection of books available to read, and the host goes out of the way to make it feel homely. She bakes banana bread and homemade chocolates for all the guests, and there is 24x7 service available. 10 mins walk from the market. The best part was actually the service, two very nice and humble gentlemen were there to cater to guest's needs. Breakfast was free with fresh and healthy meals. Very positive vibes throughout the stay.

Sleeping time I felt little cold. I wanted some blanket . Wi-fi was weak a little.

The location on Booking.com is wrong and on Google Maps too. The property manager messaged me the location pin which was correct.

It is relatively difficult to find quality accommodation in Delhi for mid-range prices: Colonel's Retreat fills that gap entirely as it provides great value for money and great comfort. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. There is even an air filter in the room which is usually rare. The WiFi connection was very good. Breakfast was excellent although it would be nice to have more fruit choices. The neighborhood was very nice and quiet.
